In our passage today we are looking at the
faith of worship.
In some form God had given them instructions on worship.
Cain came up with his own religion.
Inventions are usually a good thing.
But not when it comes to the worship of God.
In Hebrews 9:22 we are told, “without the shedding of blood
there is no forgiveness.”
“There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is
the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12
“For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for
God, but not according to knowledge. For they being
ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking
to establish their own righteousness, have not
submitted to the righteousness of God”
Romans 10:2-3
Abel trusted God to forgive his sin if he offered the
sacrifice in the way God had instructed.
The only thing that changes a person’s relationship with
God is God.
God’s Presence
God’s Power
God’s Promises
The difference in Abel and Cain’s approach to God is summed up by two words:
“Done” and “Do.”
The difference in Abel and Cain’s approach to God is
summed up by two approaches:
“By Faith” and “By Works.”
If you go to the doctor you expect him to diagnose
your problem and then tell you the truth about it.
People have always had problems admitting sin in THEIR lives and THEIR need for repentance.
“Salvation comes no other way; no other name has
been or will be given to us by which we can be saved,
only this one.” Acts 4:12
“"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and
broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there
are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and
there are few who find it.” Matt: 7:13-14
“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Which is your approach to worshipping God?
Cain’s?
Abel’s?
