Guess What We Are Learning About Today!!!???????????????
Output Devices
![Page 3: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
BUT WHAT IS AN OUTPUT DEVICE????
![Page 4: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Where can we find them ???!
???
![Page 5: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
An output device is a hardware used to get information out of a computer.
![Page 6: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
The First Output Device is:
The MONITOR!
![Page 7: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
A monitor is the screen on which words, numbers, and graphics can be seen.
It is the most common output device.
![Page 8: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
There are two types of Monitors. They are :1- CRT which stands for (Cathode
Ray Tube) Monitors
2- TFT which stands for (Thin Film Transistor)
![Page 9: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
CRT ( Cathode Ray Tube ) Monitors: Large and bulky and have a glass screen which makes them fairly robust and difficult to damage . Produce quite a lot of heat so when you have an office with lots of them it could get quite warm. Fairly noisy compared to newer TFT monitors.
Used most commonly in the manufacturing of television screens.
![Page 10: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
TFT(Thin Film Transistor) Monitors: .Thin and occupy less space.
.more easy on the eyes of the viewer in front of it.
.not good while viewing it from different angle.
.Quieter than CRT monitors and also create less heat.
.But the bad thing about it that it can be damaged easily by anything example your nail or a pencil.
![Page 11: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
The Second Output Device is:
The PRINTER!!
![Page 12: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Printers are used to create a “hard” copy of your work that you can hold, and hand to someone. Most printers print their work on paper although it is not the only thing that you can print on. You can also print on clothes, utensils, calendars, and many other things.
![Page 13: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
There are four types of printers:
1)Laser Printers2)Ink-jet printers3)Dot-matrix4)Plotters
![Page 14: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Laser Printers Uses a beam of light for printing operations. Print in the same way as photocopiers. Uses a powdered ink, called ‘Toner’. Fast, quiet, and have a high quality. Bulky and expensive to buy or repair. Best used in offices.
![Page 15: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Ink-jet PrintersUse cartridges which contain ink. Prints by heating the ink as it flows through the nozzle
making a small dot. Best used at home.More popular ‘cause it’s cheaper and compact less than
Laser printers. It is noisier and can print really slow compared to Laser
printers. It has a better quality and faster than Dot-matrix
printers.
![Page 16: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Dot-matrix Printerso Has a pin grid on the print head.o First type of printers to be used in homes and
schools but not used much nowadays.o Works by pushing a pin and then the print head hit
a carbon ribbon leaving an imprint on the paper.o Ideal when you need carbon copies.o Robust, cheap, and can print on continuous
stationary.o Has poor quality, is very slow and noisy, and can’t
produce colour copies.
![Page 17: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Plotters Special type of printers that print high quality
images on large pieces of paper. Used by engineers, architects and map-makers
to draw plans of buildings, diagrams of machines or large scale maps.
Print using a pen that can be lowered or raised by controlled motors.
Draws as if an expert draws them. Slower than other printers. More expensive and produce poor quality text
print outs.
![Page 18: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
The Third Output Device is:
The HEADPHONES!!
![Page 19: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
Using speakers can disturb the people in the area. If there is a lot of music in the background, the speakers may misrepresent it.That’s why headphones are used instead. Can be used to listen to music using:
MP3 playerIPodComputer /laptopAny music system
![Page 20: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
The Fourth is:
The LIGHT!!!!
![Page 21: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Lights such as LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) can be connected to a computer and respond to electrical signals which tell them to switch on and off.Control devices are used when the computer is controlling a situation such as traffic lights. Can provide a warning for users with hearing loss who might not be able to hear the error beeps.Come in a large range of different colors. The bulb may break or wear out and need replacing There may be a loose connection which makes them unable to switch on.
![Page 22: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
The Fifth One is:
The PROJECTOR!!!
![Page 23: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Takes the display from the computer screen and show it in a larger size on a flat surface. Used in meetings and presentations. Used to show information for a lot of people. Small, rarely bigger than a toaster, weighs a few pounds, and needs small space. Quality of image may not be as good as the original and requires a dark room.
![Page 24: S.N.R.F. Around the Cyber Galaxy](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062722/5681398f550346895da125f4/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
The Sixth One Is:
