Harmony Day
Don’t forget that this Friday, 21st of March is Harmony Day across the state and state
schools will help celebrate diversity in our communities. Schools, and in particular ours, play a big part in educating and influencing the values of our children and families. If you are interested, then please look at www.harmony.gov.au
Premiers Active Challenge
Hope people are checking out www.activeapril.vic.gov.au for April to be part of “Premiers Active April”. There are some great prizes and “flow backs” to the school. We will put our posters up around the school and have created a link on the school website.
Swimming
Thanks to those parents who have already paid or who are using the instalment method. Please come and see us if you have any problems at all and we will work out a payment plan with you to ensure that your child does not miss out.
School Photos
We got through them all on Wednesday with the help of our staff and the outstanding behaviour of our kids. The leadership of our School Captains: Jack, Summer, Meagan and Damian in assisting the photographer was fantastic and made the whole operation very smooth. We look forward to getting the photos back in the near future.
Bealiba Road – Top corner gate
The gate is a bit of a traffic hazard which means there are many occasions where
cars are parked there illegally causing a danger for other cars and pedestrians. We
have sealed off the gate and are asking parents and students to exit a little further down through
what used to be the old main gate. That seems to have solved the problem! We will seal the top
corner gate off permanently very soon.
Fundraising
Fundraising plays a vital role in helping us to purchase items that our students and community can enjoy and benefit from. Over the past couple of years, in conjunction with our Canteen Committee, fundraising has enabled the school to purchase shade sails, colourful seats, playground equipment and have educational shows come to the school.
School Council has established a Fundraising Committee for 2014. We would like to thank Mrs. Robyn Wildblood, a parent representative on School Council for volunteering to take on this role. Robyn would love to hear from any parents who have any ideas or who can help out/volunteer with fundraising to contact her on by email: [email protected] or phone 0401 936 800. Volunteers do not have to give much of their time or have any special skills – we would really appreciate any help you can give.
