There will be a fully stocked bar, tea and coffee, a cold buffet and music (also coming is professional dance instructor for anybody who wishes to take part in a bit of dance). This event will be a great chance to celebrate the joys of life, and the contribution that older people make to the community. Come and try foods from across the world, made by local cooks, including from Cameroon, Poland, China, the Caribbean - mains and puddings! tasters as usual, along with good, friendly and chatty atmosphere. Get dressed up to be in with a chance of winning your place in the Olympic chariot parade float; you could represent your favourite sport, country, or come as an Olympic God or Goddess. 12 11 SNEINTON FESTIVAL is a volunteer run community group whose mission is to organise social events for the benefit of the community in Sneinton/Dales and beyond. Each year the main festival day is the first Saturday in July, so we can all plan ahead. We are always looking for new group members of all ages and different backgrounds, so why not get involved (or just join our facebook group)! This year’s organising committee are Brendon Arnold, Holly Cassidy, Moon Chester (Chair), Jordan Deakin, Rose Fearon, Beth Hemus, David Jones, Donna Powell, Amy Smith, Steve Smith, Jonathan Smithers, Leanne Sutton, THANKS TO.... Sneinton Festival Locations 4 10 Local charities Ecoworks, AMC Gardens, Stonebridge City Farm, Nottingham Community Cafe Network and others have come together to form the Nottingham Local Food Partnership (Find on facebook or call 0115 9622200 for info). Come along for outdoor cafe & music, locally grown fresh fruit & veg, meats, cheese, breads, eggs, cakes, live cooking demos chutneys, gifts, crafts, plants, seeds, growing advice. . Once again the Lord Nelson will host an open mic evening to kick off the festival week proper. Expect a variety of music styles and spoken word performances from artists spanning the generations. Many will be warming up for their appearances on the main festival day (see Right for the amazing line up of artists performing this year), so why not get a sneak peak with a pint and the friendliest atmosphere around? Saturday 7 July 8 8 14 2 . As usual a tasty, vegetarian (Olympic-themed) meal will be served with cakes and refreshments. A free kids film will be shown, and we'll have some special team games on the night such as “Pockets, Purses and Wallets”. Also look out on our facebook page for any further ideas of how Sneinton can enjoy this once in a lifetime moment. This is where we receive the inspiration of Olympic Spirit.
