Ernesto Snajer was born in Buenos Aires in 1968. After

conservatory studies in jazz and classical music as well as a

thorough grounding in tango he formed the band Semblanza

in 1988. In its four year history the band toured extensively,

playing at many of the major festivals. While in Denmark in

1990 he met, and found an immediate affinity with, fellow

guitarist Palle Windfeldt and their duo has been a priority for

both musicians since then. Snajer worked as accompanist to

multi-instrumentalist Pedro Aznar - best known for his work

with the Pat Metheny Group - on diverse projects, including

tributes to Astor Piazzolla and Carlos Gardel. Between 1994

and 1997 he was also a member of Lito Vitales' popular band

Quinteto Los Argentinos. Among many other playing

associations Snajer has also worked with Egberto Gismonti's

erstwhile cellist Jacques Morelenbaum. He also continues to

write music for theater and films.

Snajer's Danish counterpart was born in 1964.

Palle Windfeldt has been playing music since the age of

seven, initially with his father, composer/arranger Klaus

Windfeldt. Palle attended the Rhythmic Conservatory in

Copenhagen, founding in the same period his set in motion

by Piazzolla. Two members of this band, violinist Kristian

Jorgensen and mallet percussion specialist Kaare Munkholm

also guest with the Snajer/Windfeldt guitar duo. The wide-

ranging repertoire of the duo includes Egberto Gismonti's

"Maracatú" (previously heard on Egberto's ''Sanfona" album).

Writing in the Danish magazine Politiken critic Boris

Rabinowitsch has observed that "the duo's music is not

obsessive in detail, nor are we witnesses to a competition in

virtuosity, so often the justitication for such partnerships.

The music is highly expressive in all its richlly varied voices,

by turns Iyrical, reflective and strongly rhythmical ".
