Awards: Top 20 Individuals will earn State Medals Top 3 Teams will earn State Trophies

The team will go out to eat after the meet. The team should be back at SMS by 4:30pm

Timing: Two chips will be assigned to each runner in addition to a bib number.  They are to be secured to the shoes using the provided instructions.  It is imperative that coaches collect the chips from runners and return them to the designated spot (information will be in the coaches packet).  Schools failing to return chips will be billed $10 per runner

Directions to Rim Rock: Take I-435 west and then north to I-70 heading west. Take I-70 west to the East Lawrence exit and turn right (north). Go north on Highway 24 and stay on Highway 24 as it turns west. Take a right (north) on County Road 1045 and go to 13th St. Turn left (west) on 13th St. and then turn right (north) on Republic. Republic will then curve to head west. Rim Rock is on the right (north) side of Republic.

Admission: The admission price will be $7.00 for students K-12 and $9.00 for adults. This price is set by KSHSAA and includes a parking fee from KU.

Parking: Parking is available at the course. Please pay attention to the parking attendants and the Jefferson County Sheriffs instructions. Parking on the road is not permissible as it prevents emergency vehicles from entering the area should the need arise. Parking in adjacent properties is also illegal as these lands are private property, your car will be towed if you park in any area other than those designated. Allow yourself some extra time for parking at Rim Rock.

Pets: Pets are not allowed on the course as this is a risk to runners, please keep them at home or in your vehicle.

Concessions will be available: All proceeds go to the Free State High School special education program.

Programs: There will be a limited number of programs available this year for the price of $2, exact change is appreciated.

*5A Fans- Please be aware that we will start awards for the 6A boys following the conclusion of the 6A girls race. There will still be races running (6A boys and 3A girls) during your awards time.

Bathrooms: There are 14 portable restrooms available on the course. We ask the three closest to the starting line be made available to the runners first and spectators next.

Come early or stay late: Rim Rock Farm is one of the premier cross country courses in the nation with ponds, trails, silhouettes, covered bridges and many Kansas features. According to Running Times magazine it is one of only two courses in the world maintained solely as a cross country course. Take some time to walk the lower parts of the course and watch some of the best runners in the state race by as they compete in their state championships.
