Program____________________________The “Cape Fear – Atlantic Voyage” is

designed to show students several fascinating and beautiful coastal environments. Students discover the bounty of the sea by fishing, pulling shrimp nets, crab pots, and fish traps.

OverviewAbout “Carolina Ocean

Studies”____________________The sponsor of this program, “Carolina

Ocean Studies”, conducts innovative educational boating cruises specifically for school groups. Most of our instructors have a degree in marine biology. Last year we conducted programs for over 25,000 students from more than 300 schools.

OverviewVessels________________________________________The 80’ “SS Winner Queen”, the 85’ “Gulf

Stream Winner”, or the 75’ “Winner Queen II”. These vessels are U.S. Coast Guard inspected and certified for 105 passengers. The captain’s company is insured and his vessels are all U.S. Coast Guard inspected.

Additional FormsAssumption of Risks Forms for All Participants“The use of forms such as these is an

accepted and standard practice in outdoor education. Carolina Ocean Studies has performed over 2,000 trips for more than 1,400 schools and 100,000 students and teachers. We have been operating since 1992.

What to Bring….SMS & COS CAN NOT BE RESPONCIBLE

FOR LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMANGED ITEMS OF ANY KIND.

THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE FOR ELECTRONICS!

STUDENTS WHO WISH TO BRING A CELL PHONE SHOULD HAVE A SECURE POCKET IN WHICH TO CARRY IT!

What to Bring…Water only is allowed on the bus! Students

may have soda or juice for their lunch only!Students may have a snack for the bus ride.

It is recommended that they have one for the return trip!

Lunches will be left on the bus. Lunches should include a cold pack to keep them from spoiling.

Drinks for lunch can be placed in a cooler and kept cool, but must have the student’s name on them!

Motion Sickness…Students may bring motion sickness medications under the following circumstances:

1. It is given to the chaperone/teacher before boarding the bus

2. has the student’s full name written on the container

3. is inside a zip lock bag4. Is in the original container containing

dosage and instructionsNote: NO STUDENT MAY CARRY OR SHARE

GroupsStudents are

encouraged to sign up for a group tonight

Carpooling… Chaperones who are

carpooling should meet at the end of this presentation.

Chaperone packets will be provided for the trip.

Plan to arrive at 6:30.
