We want to take this opportunity to wish Anne Marie & Mark and Camilla & Paul all the very best for the future. If you think Terence Gibbons is looking a little tired these days, it’s not because of the extra duties he has taken on with the Social Committee. Congratulations are also in order for Mary Rose Breslin, Inbound, who was the lucky winner of our annual Grand National sweepstake. The last known where- abouts of the shoes where in a blue hackney taxi. The disappearance has caused Marian so much upset that she is offering a reward for the recovery of her shoes. Anyone who sees a bald taxi man in Liverpool wearing shoes of this description please call immediately. Damien Harkin, LTSB After a tense season, Malin gained promotion to Division One of the All-County League last October. A gruelling pre-season regime under new manager Martin Lafferty was undertaken and we now speak with Malin defender, and FEI employee Damien Harkin, who tells us about the hopes for the season. Q: What does it mean to Malin to play in the top division in the county? Definitely means a lot to the club. To be one of the top nine teams in the county and playing against some the best players in the county, if not country, can only help the team. We were here a few years ago but with the young team we now have we don't fear any one and its showing with a win and a draw in our first two games. Inishowen is usually regarded as having good soccer teams so to have Malin playing at the highest level shows how much hard work the club is doing at the minute. Q: What other FEI employees are involved with the club? Ruairi Kelly in Instalments is one of the goalkeepers at the club. Paul McDermott goes to training the odd time (when he’s not complaining about his sore back!!). Linda McColgan plays for our Ladies side. Then you have got Mairead Havlin and Eilish McColgan who are the WAGS of the club!! Q: Which is worse, a Monday morning in the Lloyds TSB Pod or a tough training session on Lagg Beach? As tough as the beach training sessions are, listening to Ronan Kearney at 8am on a Monday morning is far tougher! So I'd pick Lagg any day!! Only joking Kearney!! Q: Whilst the league is a huge focus for the club, explain "Championship Mode" and what it means to the players and management? The Championship is the one everyone wants to win. While we want to stay in the top division the top teams train to win the Championship. The games are far more intense and the hits are far harder. We have Glenfin in first round this year so come down and support us!! Interviewer Ronan Kearney. Esme, Terence Gibbons new born daughter Darina, Sandra and Marian along with the local constables
