Acting for Change Project2010-2011

Utilised drama and theatre activities to engage participants to explore themes that are a consequence of the conflict in Northern Ireland and the Southern Border counties.

The project promoted equality, diversity and the coming together of different communities in mutual understanding and respect.

Smashing Times Theatre Company conducted Anti- Racism and Anti Sectarianism workshops as well as Storytelling Workshops with many cross border and cross community groups of adults and children.

"Theatre (is) the art of looking at ourselves ...Theatre should be

happiness; it should help us to learn about our times and ourselves. We

should know the world we live in, the better to change it.

Theatre is a form of knowledge; it should and can also be a means of transforming society.

Theatre can help us build our future instead of just waiting for it."

Augusto Boal, Games for Actors and non-Actors
