We are Hibox We started this company ten years ago with one thought in mind: To

make better Hotel TV systems. Today we develop, market and sell

our hospitality solutions that are used by people around the world.

with solutions that have been sold with minimal customization

possibilities, extensive installation work and customers being tied to

long-term contracts. This has evidently been a profitable and

scalable business concept – but failed to meet the hotel owners’

needs.

Our philosophy is to rethink everything about hotel TV: Online

hosting instead of local server installations, subscription-based

services, Bring-Your-Own-Content and web-based mobile apps.

Every hotel customer is unique. When we work with a new customer,

we look at the specific situation in terms of network infrastructure,

IP NETWORKING OPTIONS

In order to provide the guest with an

interactive menu portal, all TVs / STBs

need an IP network connection to the

Hibox Centre Server. There are many

ways to create the connection, each with

pros and cons depending on the building

and its existing infrastructure.

CAT Network Wireless Data over coax

Connecting over a CAT network is

the preferred method, because it's

fastest and most reliable. The TV

channels can be multicast in the

same network, or carried by coaxial

cables.

If the TV signal is carried by a

coaxial cables, the TVs can be

connected to the server through a

wireless network. With this method,

only the interactive functionality

uses the wireless connection.

We can also provide an advanced

solution for extending the IP

network by utilizing existing coaxial

cabling. In this case, both the TV

channels and the IP traffic are

carried by coaxial cables.

Examples of layout style and final design:

Placing the main menu on the

bottom of the screen leaves plenty

of room for background images and

portlets such as weather.

The grid-based layout has a main

menu that consists of a number of

tiles. Behind every tile the user finds

more information or an application.

The left-sided navigation creates

clear structure between the main

menu to the left and the content

AirPlay enables screen mirroring for

iPhones, iPads and Apple laptops.

Miracast is supported by most of the

hospitality Smart TV’s today. Miracast

functions with Android and Windows 8.1

devices.

UPnP/DLNA is the third wireless possibility

for mirroring images and videos from a

mobile device to a TV.

A wired alternative is to allow guests to

connect their devices using an HDMI-cable.

All mirroring technologies above are easily

accessed from the Smartroom Hotel TV

guest menu.

Wireless or wired screen mirroring allows guests to enjoy their own

content on the hotel TV.

LIMITATIONS: This system is a complement to existing alarm and instant messaging systems. This system relies on vulnerable technologies like the standard power system, local ethernet network and connected devices in the rooms.

As such, the Hibox Evacuator can be considered a secondary safety system and must not replace the primary life-saving emergency systems in the hotel. Hibox takes no responsibility if the system is misused.
