World Headquarters

From early roots in America, Leviton has grown to be the largest privately-held global provider of electrical and

electronic wiring devices, lighting energy management solutions, and commercial data infrastructure.

In 2009, Leviton moved its headquarters from Little Neck to Melville, NY. Our world-class facility symbolizes

the company’s focus on the future, and its commitment to innovation, sustainability and community

responsibility. Working towards LEED Certification, the 4-story, 140,000 sq. ft. building is outfitted with the

latest “green building” materials and systems, including Energy Star qualified fixtures and our own energy-

saving wiring devices and lighting controls. With recycling programs and building procedures that promote

the health and well-being of its occupants, it serves as a showcase for Leviton products and as a model high-

performance “green” facility.

From Modest Beginnings to Industry Leader Our founder, Isidor Leviton, opened a small tinsmithing operation in Manhattan in 1906. The

modest start-up company produced mantle tips for the gas lighting industry. As electricity

grew to become the dominant power source, the company switched gears to produce a pull-

chain lampholder to hold Edison’s new light bulb. From these early days, the Leviton family has

pioneered ingenious solutions while delivering quality, reliability and value every step of the way.

Isidor’s son, Harold Leviton, continued this tradition while dramatically expanding the breadth

and depth of the product line and extending the company’s reach globally. Today, Leviton is the

largest privately-held global provider of electrical and electronic wiring devices, lighting energy

management solutions and commercial data infrastructure with distribution in more than 100

countries. Leviton’s third president and CEO Don Hendler, continues to build upon these strategic,
