VI. Servicing Notes
A. Power and Plug Requirements
Canon USA strongly suggests dedicated and properly grounded outlets beprovided for the BLM300C Booklet Maker
The BLM300C Booklet Maker and Rotator module each require a dedicatedNEMA 5-15 receptacle for proper operation
Table 7 – Power Receptacle
Power Receptacle
NEMA 5-15 Receptacle
IMPORTANT
We recommend an additional standard 120 V/15 A outlet for service tools, such as a laptop computer or vacuum that may be used when servicing orconfiguring the machine.
Use only dedicated and properly grounded outlets for the BLM300C BookletMaker and optional modules. It is also strongly suggested to use dedicatedand properly grounded outlets for each optional accessory. Do not useextension cords. The ground connection serves to provide the internalelectronics with a reference voltage. Faulty or poor ground sources willcause this reference voltage to fall into a range that no longer serves as areliable reference voltage. A qualified electrician can measure and providethe ground source that the BLM300C Booklet Maker and optional modulesor any computer controlled office equipment requires.
Before installation, confirm that all necessary receptacles are available.

VIII. Product Technical Support Offerings
A. Dealer Support Requirements
Technical Training is required to receive technical support for the BLM300CProfessional Booklet Maker products. Refer to the Canon USA TechnicalSupport Center section (Page 22) for further details.
In order to ensure that each Dealer receives the highest level of support and inturn resolve the end user’s problems quickly and accurately, here are severalrecommendations to maximize your technical support request.
The dealer support personnel should check technical documentation(Manuals, Tech. Pub’s, etc.) and the e-Support Center Web Site (available24 hours a day, 7 days a week) before calling Canon USA’s TechnicalSupport Center (TSC) since your concern may have already beenaddressed and documented.
Have your Support ID Number ready when you call the TSC and prepare tobe at the location where the engine or application is accessible. Thisdramatically improves the TSC’s ability to help troubleshoot the problemand eliminate the guesswork when answering a specific question. There aremany “causes” to various problems, but by being at the location whencalling, it takes the speculation out of the troubleshooting process bysupplying accurate answers to what the device/application is doing.
Provide the serial number of the installed engine or application you aretroubleshooting. While this is required for access to support, it will alsoprovide the specialist with information about previous calls for support.
Be prepared to provide environment specific information and any other site-specific variables.
Submit and update your profile information such as cell phone number, e-mail address, or company address. To do so, you can logon to the e-Support Center Web Site and access the “Current Profile” section to makeupdates or call Canon USA’s TSC. Accurate profile information will allow forquick contact if more information is required from the caller later on.
At the completion of each call, a ticket number is provided. If the supportspecialist does not provide a number, the caller should ask for it.
A return call from a dealer technician/systems engineer with a resolution isextremely helpful. The information Canon USA receives from you on whatactually resolved the problem is sent to the Support Specialist and enablesthem to better assist other callers who may have the same problem justaddressed.
Making certain that all of our support partners get the highest quality technicalsupport as fast as possible, makes everyone more productive and ultimatelydelivers better results and customer satisfaction.
Following these basic guidelines, and working as a team, helps everyoneachieve their support goals.
