1:45 Dr Ian Martinus, Our MC for the day Ian is Manager Advocacy & Economic Development Advocacy & Economic Development, City of Wanneroo. Ian has extensive experience in economic development, trade and investment. His career spans Fortune 500 organisations with consultancies to national Governments across the globe including the Middle East

with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq. He’s particularly passionate about technology and has co-founded 2 technology startups and co-working collaborative spaces. At the City of Wanneroo, Ian and the team are fully immersed in Smart Cities thinking with the opportunities and challenges of one of the fastest growing cities in the country.

2.00 Brendan Wright, SAP, VP, Public Services, Asia & Japan Brendan is a recognised leader in contemporary service delivery models for public services and has a long history of leading public services transformational programs across Whole of Government, Healthcare and Education. Having also been co-founder of a technology startup, Brendan has a broad mix of skills

spanning enterprise and small business that provides him with a unique perspective around unearthing innovation and entrepreneurship across the public services domain.

2.20 Professor Sharon Biermann, Director, Planning and Transport Research Centre, UWA (PATREC)

Sharon is the Professor/Director of the Planning and Transportation Research Centre (PATREC) at The University of Western Australia, responsible for delivering applied research in the connected spaces of

transport and land use planning with a focus on integrated land use and transport futures; smarter travel decisions; integrated freight system optimisation; and emerging technology and network optimisation and intelligence.

2.40 Lisa Dykes, Esri Australia, State Manager, WAVast experience in the geospatial industry, Lisa is a passionate advocate for the power of GIS technology to transform enterprise and government. Her background encompasses GIS and remote sensing, including the supply of aerial photography, LiDAR and satellite imagery datasets. A graduate of the University of KwaZulu-

Natal with a Master of Science (M.Sc) and an honours degree in Molecular Biology/Microbial Genetics Lisa has built a career in both the private and public sectors, across Africa, South-East Asia and Australia.

3.20 Paul Kabut, Optus, Associate Director for Safe and Smart CitiesIn this role Paul advises technical, operational and C-level clients with in-depth understanding of the technology options available to achieve their smart city and business outcomes in effective and innovative ways. Paul has considerable experience in the ICT field and over his career he has worked with Australia’s

largest global enterprises as well as local, state and federal governments assisting them with their technology and innovation initiatives.
