SMART CARD is the SMART project for SMART people in this SMART era !

SMART CARD basically works on the principle and Concept of RFID.

The Heart of this Smart Card is MIFARE IC “MFRC 500”“MFRC 500”..... Mifare is the protocol Standardised in ISO 14443A ISO 14443A (Contactless Proximity Smart Cards).

It has fixed frequency for communication and its 13.56MHz

SMART CARD and Reader are the main Part of This System.

Definition SMART CARD is a (Mostly) Credit-Card Sized device embedded with

either a Memory chip or a Memory chip and Microprocessor

Think of microprocessor smart card as a tiny, portable database and computer that you can carry in your pocket.

MFRC500 is The Card reader IC

The MFRC500 is member of a new family of highly integrated reader ICs for contactless Communication on 13.56MHz.

This new reader IC family utilises an outstanding modulation and demodulation concept completely integrated for all major kinds of passive contactless communication methods and protocols on 13.56MHz.

The internal Tx Part is able to drive a proximity antenna directly without additional active circuitry.

The Rx Part provides a robust and efficient implementation of a demodulation and decoding circuitry for signals of a ISO 14443A compatible transponders.

A Comfortable parallel interface which can be directly connected to any 8-bit microcontroller gives high flexibility for Reader/Terminal design.

Actually What is ISO 14443A ?

Lets Getting Started……………………

ISO 14443A is Developed and Registered by the Philips Semiconductors.

Part 1: Physical characteristics•Physical size of the ISO14443A card

Part 2: RF signal & power interface•RF-interface (13.56 MHz, modulation, min. field-strength)

Part 3: Initialization & anti-collision•Start of communication (request, anti-collision, select card)

Bit-wise arbitration

Part 4: Transmission protocols•Describes data exchange between reader and cards(ISO14443A does not specify any specific application, security or encryption)
