HONEYWELL AERO IN THE AIR

• Honeywell's SmartPath - world's only Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) certified by the Federal

Aviation Administration (FAA) selected by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as part of a pilot project for

satellite-based precision approach and landings at Chennai International Airport

• Will reduce delays and journey times for passengers, lower operational costs for airlines, and increase

traffic throughput at airport.

• Handles up to 26 separate approaches across four runways simultaneously.

• Not susceptible to signal interferences from weather, terrain, surrounding aircraft or other obstacles

• Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning

System (EGPWS), pioneered by

Honeywell, prevents controlled flight into

terrain incidents by monitoring terrain and

obstacles in proximity to the aircraft. The

invention has reduced controlled flight

into terrain accidents from about one in

every 3 million flights to less than one in

every 20 million flights — saving

countless lives.

• SmartRunway/SmartLanding is an

EGPWS software upgrade that that

improves a pilot’s situational awareness

and reduces the risk associated with

runway incursions and excursions

• SmartTraffic (Traffic Collision

Avoidance System) provides the

industry’s longest-range surveillance

capability, plus Automatic Dependent

Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) In

functionality.

• Flight Data and Cockpit Voice

Recorders store mandatory voice and

data information from an aircraft’s most

recent flight activity.

• Flight Management Systems automate

flight planning so passengers can get

from point A to point B on time and

reduce fuel burn and airlines’ costs.

• Auxiliary Power Units provide aircraft with power while on

the ground. The 131-9A APU is currently flying on more

than 7,500 aircraft worldwide, reducing noise in and around

the airport. It also lowers maintenance costs as a result of

longer scheduled maintenance intervals and reduces fuel

consumption
