Small Scale Off-Grid Solar Energy in Kenya
This study required a review of existing literature on achievements and limitations of SHS. To gain the most accurate and up to date information, ASD held consultations with national bodies over areas that have had highest SHS penetration and identification of communities with economic activities that might lend themselves to a nano-grid solution. ASD also conducted detailed research on the dynamics of the impacts of SHS installations within the targeted communities.
ASD conducted a study for INTASAVE targeted at enhancing the ability of small-scale solar technologies to provide real economic opportunities for communities to engage in income-generating activities as well as enjoying the social, health and lifestyle improvements that solar home systems offer.
