FAQ ABOUT LIFE GROUPS!!Why should I get involved in a small group? We believe real life change occurs when we “experience life together” with others. In a life group, you can expect to experience friendship, accountability, support and community.!!Who can attend? Everyone is welcome at Union Grove Small Groups! Church membership is not required and we welcome your friends and family outside of UGC.!!What can I expect when I attend a small group? The book of Acts records amazing growth of the first church in Jerusalem (Acts 2:42-47). Therefore, we follow the Acts 2 model by allowing time at each group session for the following:!! ! ! ! ! Teaching (bible studies, DVDS, books, devotions, etc)! ! ! Fellowship! ! ! Breaking of Bread (meals/snacks are enjoyed by most groups)! ! ! Prayer! ! ! Care! !How are Small Groups structured? Our small groups are as varied as we are! Groups may be structured by gender, stage of life, age, interest or topic. !!How often are Small Groups offered? We have 2 main semesters per year. Winter/ Spring and Fall semesters. Winter/Spring semester is 16 weeks. Fall semester is 14-16 weeks. We usually break in the Summer. Groups usually still meet.!!How long do semesters last? Short enough that it’s not a life commitment and just long enough to make some friends!!!! Winter Spring! 16 weeks! ! Fall! ! ! 16 weeks ! !How do I join a life group?!• Before the start of each semester. Prior to the start of each semester, we publish a
groups guide that you can pick up at church. We then follow up with a sign up days after each service. To maximize your experience and because groups fill up quickly, we recommend signing up at the start of each term.!!

• Through Growth Track. When you go through the Growth Track process, you will learn about the current small groups at Union Grove that have available spaces.!!
• At the Welcome Desk You may stop by our welcome desk located in the foyer on any given Sunday morning or evening to get more information about our small group ministry and to sign up for a group.!!
When does my Small Group start? !Winter Spring Semester starts the week of February 9th and will go through May 25th.!!How will I know what group I am in? You will receive a confirmation email or phone call several days after you sign up that will have your group name and leaders name. If the group you selected is at full capacity, you will be placed in another group of your choice or we will contact you to choose another group. !!What if I want to remain in the group I’m currently in? As long as the group has space and your current leader welcomes returners back to the group, you don’t need to sign up for your current group again. However, there are so many wonderful groups that you may choose to be in an additional group. You will need to sign up for any new or additional group.!!Can I sign up after the semester begins? Absolutely! We recognize that you may be looking to join a group once the groups have already begun. Many groups remain open throughout the semester as space is available.!!What if the group I attend isn’t the right fit for me? No problem! We all have different styles and personalities and that is true for groups too. We want your group experience to be a positive one and that may mean trying one or two groups before you find the right fit. Contact us through the website or by calling the church office to change your group assignment.!!How do I get more information and/or a referral to a specific group that is right for me? Co-Ed Groups PROCLAIMERS Sunday’s 10:00AMLeader: Margaret Reed Location: Room #106This class was more of a traditional Sunday school class, yet allowing class members to share their impute on the lesson. We have evolved into more of a small group discussion with a teacher/facilitator. At present, we are studying the Book of 1 Peter. Studies include the book of James, the Tabernacle, Undercover by John Bevere, Romans, Corinthians, Acts, the Beatitudes, to name a few. We meet Sundays at 10:00AM.*Childcare provided

JESUS IS Sunday’s 10:00AM Leader: Shana Garner, Danielle Long Location: Room #105 Judah Smith digs deep to answer the most common and the most difficult questions about Jesus, a man so few understand and so many desperately need. In Jesus Is, Judah Smith explores a number of topics that reveal Jesus’ purpose for coming, what He accomplished while He was here, and what that means for us. The Jesus Is DVD-Based Study will help participants discover how to have a deeper, lasting relationship with Jesus, and to commune with and grow in Him. !Christ & Coffee Monthly (Thursday’s) Leader: Todd Garner Location: T.B.D.Join Pastor Todd as we study the Gospel of John. We will meet once a month for an in depth bible study on the book of John. We will meet at a location to be named later. If you enjoy in depth study of the Word of God, this class is for you.
!All in the family Every other Monday Leader: Andrew & Danielle Long 6:30-8:30PMWe are a strong family centered group that participates in bible study, food and fellowship. This semester we will study “How to Be Rich” by pastor Andy Stanley explores 1 Timothy 6:18. Andy biblically redefines what wealth is, how to use it, and helps you practice being rich so you will be good at it if you should ever be so fortunate. The early Christians took this command seriously. Generosity was the hallmark of the early church. They did for those who could not do or would not do anything in return. That was new. That got people's attention. Is that how people in our communities would describe us? How to Be Rich will force conversation and reflection around the topic of what to do with what we have. Jesus could not have been any clearer. It's not what you have that matters. It's what you do with what you have that will count for you or against you in the kingdom of heaven. Andy Stanley will encourage you to look at richness differently, which might just lead our families, communities, and world to look at Christians differently.

SINGLES (S.O.L.O.) First Friday each month Leader: Moya Reed Location: Varies S.O.L.O. Ministries stands for singles overcoming life's obstacles. It caters to men & women ages 18 & up. Singles include single/never been married, divorced or widowed. This is not an opportunity for singles to begin dating one another or we're not expecting for anyone to be"hooked up". This ministry simply stands on the principles of living in purity/celibacy and being able to overcome the temptations that singles may face. S.O.L.O. Ministries wants singles to understand that just because you're single, does not mean you're lonely. As singles we should focus on drawing close to our Lord, and in doing so, we should be able to hold each other accountable for our daily struggles. S.O.L.O. Ministries will meet the first Friday of every month at 7pm/ locations will vary. Our activities may include dinner, movies, shopping or just times of fellowship. Our meetings will always begin with a devotional/scripture reading and prayer. Then we will open the floor for discussion on whatever the presenting topic may be. We welcome all who may interested in joining our small group.

Hungry Hearts Monthly Leader: Lynda Waits Location: T.B.D.Calling ladies whose hearts are spiritually hungry for more. The purpose of this group is to stir up a passion for a deeper relationship with our Lord. When we asked Jesus to come into our heart, He doesn't hold anything back, He gives us all of Him, but....... how much of us are we willing to allow Him to occupy? Lets stir one another to dig deeper as we answer the call to come up higher. Sharing life's challenges and growing in Him as we grow closer in fellowship with one another.Romans 1:11-12 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong- that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each others faith.

SPECIAL INTEREST Running Group Monthly Leader: Danielle Long, Jennifer Woodall Location: Varies Run together with friends from Union Grove. What a great opportunity to do something healthy for your body and spirit with a group of believers who share the same values!People on all ability levels are invited. The group is headed by Jennifer Woodall and Danielle Long and they welcome anyone of all ages and different abilities. Run/walkers, and beginner and advanced runners are in our group. This is a co-ed Group.
Outdoor Sportsman Monthly Leader: Randy Turner, Chad Robinson Location: Varies Join men for a time of outdoorsman sports. We will get together monthly for a time of fellowship. Events include fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, wild game dinners and a whole lot more. If you are interested in joining this group contact Chad Robinson or Randy Turner.
Men’s Fellowship Meeting Times Vary Leader: Dicky Robinson Location: Varies Join men from Union Grove for a time of food and fellowship and bible study.
Agriculture Prayer First Monday/Monthly Leader: Tim Butler Location: Church Join men and women from around Tifton for a time of devotion and prayer. We meet the first Monday of every month at the Church at 7:30pm for bible study and prayer.

CARE & SUPPORT First Responders Monday’s 7:00PMLeader: Lynn Layfield Location: Church
A small group developed to be on call for people in need. Members will need to be saved, filled with Holy Spirit, encouraging, proactive, and willing to sacrifice time. We will use meetings to study the Bible and other available resources to prepare ourselves for all situations that might come up.Some examples, how would God want use you to deal with the broken hearted due to: Death of Loved One, a family member sick, walks out, arrested, threatens suicide, or lost their job. The list goes on and on, domestic violence, drug abuse, depression, a lot to prepare for. This is not only for member’s families, it might be a friend that just needs someone to come and pray with them and let them know they are loved and God can see them through any trial. If you would like to be a part of this group we will meet for bible study Monday Nights at 7:00PM.
