SMA Daily Bulletin May 28, 2019 Day 1 What’s the GOOD NEWS/CHARISM CORNER…this is the last week of May. May is commonly referred to as the MONTH OF MARY. Why? Well there are many factors that have contributed to it from connections to Greek and Roman goddesses, to honoring life and Motherhood (long before Hallmark started it!). Yet since the mid-17 th Century, the Church has reserved May for Mary. This is a time to remember her in a special way. Her strength, faithfulness, and goodness. Sometimes there would be processions crowning Mary with beautiful flowers (which was part of our SMA story, too). During this last week of May, the Month of our Lady, find time to be with her in prayer. Share with her the joys and struggles of; living your faith, trying to do what is best, needing strength or being a woman in our world today. Mary – Mother of God, Mother of the Church, Mother of us all – PRAY FOR US! FROM THE SCHOOL: CAMPUS MINISTRY: Club LEMON: Calling all grade 7 and 8’s! Our LAST Club Lemon meeting is Wednesday, May 29. Join us in the field at 12:35 for picnic fun and games. Bring your lunch and a friend! (Rain location will be the MPR) Harvest Thursday! Thank you to the 5 participants from Mrs. Kolt’s 11-2 Religion class who will be serving in our community this week. CON SPIRITU CHOIR: There is a Con Spiritu rehearsal Thursday for our Grad Mass Friday. I LOVE TO READ: Calling all Committee Members ILRM is planning to take a group photo on Wednesday May 29 at 12:35 p.m. Please meet in the library as there will be a special announcement after. Interested in joining the executive team for the 2019-2020 Grad Committee? Come to room 400 and pick up an application. This is an exciting all year commitment that requires organization, leadership, team work, and dedication to helping ensure your graduation is memorable & unique to you and your peers. Applications due JUNE 3RD 2019. Home room reps for Grad Committee will be picked in Sept. 2019, not through this application process. TEA FOR TARTAN WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5: Graduating students have the opportunity to donate their uniforms to be refurbished and sold at a reduced cost to current SMA students. David’s Tea will be offering the grads a cup of tea upon their donation. Bins will be set up in the hallway outside of the cafeteria following the ELA exam. Cups of take-away tea will be on hand when a donation is made. Thank you for cooperation in the wonderful school initiative. Last year, during our uniform sales, the Corner Store sold over $1000 of these donated uniforms and encouraged the reusing and recycling of materials to reduce stress on the environment. All money goes back into the SMA community to further enhance initiatives in the school.
