It was formed by the merger of Household Centre and the Institute for the Advancement of households Novo mesto
The seat of the school was on Društvenem square 1

In the school year 1961/62 there were 29 people enroled for the profession of chef and waiter
In 1963 it was renamed the School Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Novo mesto
In 1965, the school opened its restaurant Gostišče Breg, a few years later Gostišče na trgu
In the 1981 the school was renamed to High school for hospitality and tourism Novo mesto
