Welcome to the inaugural Slough Property & Investor Day.

It is great that we have Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills as our keynote speaker. It is a reflection of the importance of Slough that such a key member of London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s team is joining us. The relationship between Slough and London is more significant than ever and as London grows so does its connections to Slough. In many ways it has become a microcosm of the capital but remains a very desirable alternative for London office occupiers who can relocate here at very advantageous rents.

Both commercial and residential property are flourishing in Slough, much of it in preparation for the arrival of the Elizabeth Line in 2019. With the probability of the Heathrow expansion further ahead, investors, building companies and a plethora of specialist consultants are aware that multiple opportunities lie ahead.

Other speakers this morning include Slough Boroughs Councils interim Chief Executive, Roger Parkin, along with leading developers and investors and there will be both presentations and panel discussions. He recently commented “Slough is a unique town with unique opportunities for investors and we are already seeing the results of the council’s ambitious growth strategy, with recent investments in Slough reaching into the hundreds of millions. A booming Slough ultimately means better services and more opportunities for residents, which is always our main aim.”
