Work on campus

Situation:

Centennial College- Progress Campus during the summer 2013

Task: Prepare food for good food box and clean our campus.

Action: Buying the good stuff - fruit and vegetables - can get expensive. That's why the Student Centre at Progress will now be a drop-off location for the Good Food Box. For as little as $13, I work for good food box so that students can get a week's worth of fruit and veg, and pick it up right on campus.

Result: I make lots of friends in Progress campus and improve my service of student.

Situation: Shoeless Bar in downtown Toronto as a bartender.

Task: Introduce customers our new cold drinks and selling the Red wine.

Action: In order to work in this position, I need to get smart serve license with legal age and know that how to make different kinds of cocktails.

Result: Thanks to this summer job, I knew a lot about alcohol.

Volunteer in Centennial CollegeSituation: Centennial College-Progress campus

Task: Help the new students to know our campus better and offer them necessary information about studying.

Action: Prepare TTC maps and give them to the students who need bus transportation. I also get the map of campus and show the students to help them to find correct places.

Result: I received lots of thank-you letters and got lots of friends. And also it helps me to know our campus better.

Situation: Being a student in Algonquin College in Ottawa and in Centennial College in Toronto

Task: Study English and Accounting program.

Action: I need work hard to improve my English. In Ottawa- capital city of Canada, I have lots of chance to learn some French at the same time. In Centennial College, I concentrate on my Accounting study and learn Canadian Taxation System.

Result: I have already done parts of CGA classes and hope to have a good career in the future.

Task: Working with manager to serve customers one by one and doing the check.

Action: During the work, I need listening to customers’ orders carefully and work under pressure.

Result: After this work , I could do the work well independently and could do the daily closing for small business in Accounting so that I could understand my course better and gain working experience before graduate.
