Similar to Facebook, users create their own unique profile where they can customize and share all different kinds of content SlideShare is compatible with PDFs, Microsoft

Office, Open Office, KeyNote, and iWorks docs

Users can follow, comment, favorite and download content from other members It allows users to view presentations &

documents on a specific topic and possibly “download and reuse or remix for their own work.”

+Integration with Other Social Media Platforms

Users can integrate live Twitter feeds, along with YouTube channels in various positions within a profile

Intertwines different social media forms in one place

Example: Pfizer’s page incorporates Twitter and YouTube, along with social media icons on the left hand side that direct traffic to their other platforms

Users can also connect to FB and LinkedIn to auto- share content

onto “blogs, website, and company intranets” as a little display window within a site

Embedding within a presentation: YouTube videos can be embedded into

presentations SlideShare also enables the syncing of

Mp3s with slides It helps generate webinars,

+Stand out Features/ Benefits

SlideShare can be used for networking

Very simplistic and easy to use

It’s Free! (Unless you want to upgrade to pro)

Serves as a online USB with a substantially larger amount of online storage then Prezi

It is a source of referral traffic due to the integration of multiple social media platforms as discussed earlier

Content can go viral and be spread on its own “People tend to trust content they discover organically more

than they do content hosted on a corporate homepage.” -Todd Wheatland, head of global marketing at Kelly Services

+Conclusion

Catalyst can use SlideShare as a portfolio of its work, whether to display their creative ability, previous case studies, or complex data in a more comprehensible, sharable format

It may even be a better way to display Catalyst’s visual portfolio then Pinterest due to its more formal/ business oriented style
