Slide – James Tuttle Our first award today is this years Award of Excellence for Arborist of

the Year. This year the Arborist of the Year award goes to James Tuttle

Slide – desert Since 1978, James has owned Tree Loving Care, yes, that’s tree loving care and

not Trees. Folks in the South plains of Texas know that trees in their neck of the woods need extra

care indeed we might say “Love” and they know that James is the one who delivers.

Slide – jim with tag James has been a certified arborist since the inception of the program in Texas

and for many years was the only one in West Texas or eastern New Mexico. His promotion of

arboriculture and ISA has been a direct influence in there now being many Certified Arborists in the

region.

Slide – teacher He has given talks, taught at workshops and seminars and has had many one-on-

one talks with people in the field to promote arboriculture.

Slide – judge James served for several years on the isat board and was president in 2003-2004.

He is currently chairman of the Texas Tree Climbing Championship.

Slide – truck His dedication to the Texas Chapter is evidenced by the time he takes to travel to

ISAT events. His love of trees is just as evident. I hope those are your sisters!

Slide – Climbing James and his company completed a job this spring in the historic grove at Fort

Davis and because of that created an awareness of arboriculture in that part of the state.

Slide – poker James also runs a pretty good poker tournament at our conference and he invites

you’all to join him this evening to help raise funds for research. James believes that supporting our

profession is just part of loving your trees.

Slide – newsletter James is a hard working and dedicated tree-guy who quietly goes about the job

of working with people and trees to make the world a better place.
