Turning Your TV On and Off

1. Start with your TV and set-top box off. 2. To turn your TV on, press and release the black TV button your basic remote, or press and

release the TV button and then press and release the POWER button on your high-end remote.

3. To turn your TV off, press and release the black TV power button on your basic remote again, or press and release the TV button and then press and release the POWER button on your high-end remote.

Turning Your Set-top Box On and Off 1. Start with your TV on and set-top box off. 2. To turn your set-top box on, press and release the red STB button on your basic remote, or

press and release the STB button and then press and release the POWER button on your high-end remote.

3. To turn your set-top box off, press and release the red STB power button on your basic remote again, or press and release the STB button and then press and release the POWER button on your high-end remote.

Staying on the Correct TV Input Your TV needs to remain on the correct input to watch your Skitter TV service. If your TV is not on the correct input, your TV may display a black or blue screen, depending on your TV. The correct input for each of your TVs is noted on the front of this guide. To change the input, press the AV button on your basic remote, or the VIDEO SOURCE button on your high-end remote. Press the button until you reach the correct input.

Changing Channels There are three ways to change channels on your set-top box:

1. Type a channel number using the number buttons on the keypad. 2. Press and release the CHANNEL UP/DOWN buttons. 3. Press GUIDE to see a Channel Guide.

Exiting On-Screen Menus 1. When you’re in an on-screen menu, it’s easy to exit the on-screen menu and return to the

program you were watching. 2. To exit an on-screen menu, press and release the X button on the basic remote, or press and

release the EXIT button on the high-end remote.

View Current Channel Information

Press the i button on the basic remote, or the INFO button on the high-end remote to see a description of the program you’re watching, or a description of the channel you have selected on the guide.

In addition, every time you change the channel, a programming banner displays channel information and a program progress bar.

Setting and Using Your Favorites When you set Favorite channels, you create a separate program guide just for the channels you watch the most – your Favorites!

1. Press the MENU button, then navigate to TV>Favorites.

2. Navigate to the profile you wish to enable or edit. 3. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to navigate to a channel you want to add or remove from your

Favorites program guide. 4. Press the OK/SEL button to select a channel.

5. To reposition the channel in your favorites, use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to move the channel in the order you would like, and click the OK/SEL button to lock that channel in place.

6. To remove a channel from your favorites, navigate to it in the left column, click the OK/SEL button, then click the ! button to remove it.

7. To add a channel to your favorites, navigate to it in the right column, and click the OK button.

8. To include or exclude all channels from your favorites, navigate to the far right side and select and click OK on the Include or Exclude options.

9. To access a favorites list, navigate to TV>Favorites, navigate to the profile you wish to enable, and click the OK/SEL button to activate that list. Use the remote or on screen options to go back, or click the X button on your basic remote or EXIT on your high-end remote to go back to watching TV.

Closed Captioning Setup 1. Press the Menu button on the remote control, then move over to Settings using the

directional arrows. 2. Move up to highlight TV & Sound and hit OK/SEL.

3. Move down to highlight Subtitle language and use the ◄ and ►buttons on the directional pad to select English (US) or None.

4. Click the button on the basic remote, or navigate to the Back menu option on the screen

with the high-end remote to navigate to the previous screen. Or, use the X button on the basic remote or the EXIT button on the high-end remote to exit all menus and continue watching TV.

Pause Live TV 1. If you are interrupted while watching TV, press the PAUSE button on your remote. A little

pause sign will show above the program information at the bottom of your screen.

2. When you would like to resume watching TV, press the PLAY button on your remote. 3. Use your fast forward and rewind buttons to go back or forward within the amount of time

that you have had the program paused.

4. If you forgot to pause your program before you were interrupted, you can still rewind on the same channel by hitting the rewind button.

5. If you attempt to change the channel and are not fully caught up on a paused program, the system will alert you and ask for your approval to change the channel. Select OK to continue and switch channels, or select Cancel to stay on the current program.

DVR and Whole Home DVR Recording a TV Program If you are watching TV and want to begin recording that program, press RECORD on your remote. The current program you’re watching will be recorded and available to watch later. Recording a Program in the Future

1. If you want to schedule a recording for a program that takes place in the future, press GUIDE. 2. Scroll through the guide until the program that you want to record is highlighted and press

OK/SEL. 3. Select Record to instantly record this show once with default options. 4. To make it a series recording, press the MENU button, scroll left or right to select the

Recordings menu item, then navigate up to Schedules.

5. Scroll up or down and click OK/SEL to view the scheduled recording you wish to edit.

6. Scroll to Edit Recording and click OK/SEL to edit the details of the recording.

7. Scroll left or right in the End time field to select a time to end the recording. 8. Scroll down to Repeat, then use the left and right arrows to choose repeat recording options.

• Once: record only this instance of the show. • Every week on this day: record this channel every week on the same day. • Every day: record this channel at the specified time each day. • Programs in the same series: record all programs on this channel and in this time slot

within the same series. • Programs with the same title: record all programs on this channel and in this time slot

with the same title. 9. Scroll down to Close and press the OK/SEL button to go back to the previous screen. 10. Scroll down to Delete this recording and press the OK/SEL button to delete the scheduled

recording.

Watching a Recorded Program 1. If you would like to view a program that you previously recorded, press the DVR button

on your basic remote, or the MY DVR button on your high-end remote.

2. Scroll through until the program you would like to watch is highlighted, and press OK/SEL. 3. Select Watch to play your recording for the first time.

4. If you select Watch and you have previously watched part of the recording, select Play from 00:00 to resume watching where you left off, or select Play from Start to start the recording from the beginning.

Deleting a Recorded Program 1. If you would like to delete a program that you have finished watching, press the DVR button

on your basic remote, or the MY DVR button on your high-end remote.

2. Scroll through until the program you would like to delete is highlighted and then press the OK/SEL button on your remote.

3. Scroll up or down to select Delete and click OK/SEL.

Deleting a Scheduled Recording

1. If you want to delete a scheduled recording or timer, press the MENU button on your remote and navigate to Recordings>Schedules.

2. Scroll up or down to select the timer you wish to delete and press OK/SEL. 3. Scroll up or down to select Delete and press the OK/SEL button.
