About Start Living Right

Start Living Right is a boutique health club owned by fitness entrepreneur Maya Nassar Maalouf who is also the host of Get Fit on MTV Lebanon. Start Living Right boasts healthcare services by wellness experts that have been carefully handpicked to join the team. The club offers personal training, physiotherapy, sports nutri-tion, classes, a rooftop pool and a fully equipped fitness center with the latest machines and equipment. The gym has its own health bar with juices, salads, sandwiches and snacks with catering provided by Lily's cafe in Downtown. The club also has a laundry stand with drop off and pick up laundry services exclusively offered to Start Living Right by Pure Laundry Spa.

HERE COMES THE WORLD

This summer Skillz invites youngsters from 7- 12 years old to the program “Here Comes the World” where they will explore the globe through artistic and physical activities from the splendor of the Oakridge Resort in Faqra. Departing from Italy’s Sistine Chapel, stopping for High Tea in London, on to Japan’s Origami to name but a few destinations. Children will virtually travel the world, discover unknown places and create artistic artwork related to all the different places visited.Languages, flags, currencies and places of interest will all be covered during the travels. Stories of children who have visited the destinations will be shared. Under the guidance of an enthusiastic, crea-tive and responsible team your children will enjoy the summer in Oakridge Resort Faqra.Sports activities under the guidance of the Start Living Right gym will be offered as well. Children will have lots of space, fresh air and make many new friends.This two week journey will start in July 2018 at 9:00 AM till 2:30 PM and is repeated every two weeks with different destinations.

12 hours basics lesson of ink drawings on paper in a Zentangle way.

Introduction

Zentangle is an easy to learn drawing method that teaches you to create beautiful designs through the use of repetitive patterns. This art form can be used in many ways, from classic abstractive cards to tangled animals designed in your personal way and much more… It is a class for all levels that requires no prior artistic experi-ence.

Why learning Zentangle: Zentangle is the easiest way to learn drawing basics. Zentangle is also known as “yoga for the brain” as its relaxing technique is said to help with focus and memory.

For the above the students would need to get ANY device that can take video (phone, handy cam, pro cam, small cam, iPad, etc.) and during the last two sessions also any laptop to be able to edit on.

Now for that, during the first session, an Adobe Premiere (Editing Platform) CD will be given to all to download to be able to work on later.

DJ COURSE

12 hours of instruction on traditional/old-school DJ’ing

Introduction

Being a DJ requires more than just playing songs. Learning to structure a set, mix and get a crowd moving.When you're learning to DJ, you're actually learning to match your own musical expressions with the desires of an audience. It isn't just matching beats it's about being observant and reactive.Creating your own playlist is part of the course!

The course

Day 1 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Have a overview of the basic skills of how to become a DJ Pt 2: Introduction to the equipment and buttons in the DJ set.

Day 2 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Connecting CDJ cables to mixer and monitor. Learning about each and every button and its function and how to use it.Pt 2: Practice mixing and how to choose songs that match together.

Day 3 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Learn the beatmatching, playing two tracks at the same tempo and phase. How to calculate BPM by counting beats.Pt 2: Choose 4 songs of your own style and bring them for the next day to start mixing.

Day 4 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Transition between the songs smoothly, matching beats so that the beat remain constant without interruptions.Pt 2: Practice transition

Day 5 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Learn phrasing technique, EQing and adjusting speed using the wheel.Pt 2: Play a variety of styles and genres.

Day 6 – 2 hours

Pt 1: Mixing using effects, learn how to be a crowd pleasing by playing songs that would hit the taste of the biggest number of people in any given crowd.Pt 2: Let the music play!

Joe started DJ’ing when he was 16 years old, what started as a hobby turned professional when he started playing in night clubs and private events. He learned the old school DJ and plays various types of music. Joe wanted to professionalize his performance and consider it as a part time job beside his career as a director and a professional photographer. Therefore, Joe took many professional DJ courses and devel-oped his skills further until he became well-known in the entertainment business. He now plays in private events, wedding ceremonies, night clubs and pubs. He knows how to keep the crowd moving. He’s a multitasking individual, who loves playing music while taking fascinating pictures of people's good vibes as he plays. He cherishes his job and appreciates his fans.

Johnny Helou has experience in university teaching (HR and Management: Strategic Management, Staffing, Training, HR Strategies and Public Speaking).He is an expert in career guidance/counseling for High School students and holds a Master Degree in Business Administra-tion (MBA). He has a certificate in Neuro-linguistic Program-ming (NLP) He is proficient in training adults and students using interac-tive methods: Role Play, Games and Storytelling and has developed training programs for Interpersonal Skills develop-ment (Leadership, Communication, Management and other soft skills) and has delivered training to different NGO’s, private companies and universities.He has excellent leadership and communication skills.

Johnny Helou Leadership & Communication

Minerva was an art passionate ever since she was young. She composed original songs, acted in several films, and never stopped drawing.Growing up, she realized that cinema includes all arts, which is why she decided to specialize in film.She is into creating different realities from scratch, which is her drive when it comes to cinema.Her short film “Space Tom's Rocket Trip to The Moon” went to Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner, which gave her the opportunity to meet professionals in the film world. She is currently developing her family's business (furniture design) by creating her own furniture line that will be launched very soon. She promises that the style of furniture is going to be very fresh and artistic. She aims to go to Spain, to the Barcelona Academy of Art, after the summer of 2018 to do her Masters in film.

Coming from a multicultural Slavic ethnicity, Oksana Oubari was bathed in different forms of arts since her early years. She completed her studies at the Donetsk School of Arts then traveled to Russia to refine her skills attending a multi-tude of classes in divers plastic arts disciplines before landing 13 years ago in the Lebanon where she actually lives with her husband and kids.A dedicated mother, she kept on working and improving her skills while raising her 2 boys and 2 dogs. Oksana is fluent in English/French/Russian & Ukrainian.Her teaching career started 5 years ago, in both group classes and private lessons for kids and adults aged from 5 to 77.
