MATERIAL: e tank shall be constructed of 1⁄2” extruded U.V. stabilized high impact copolymer polypropylene (CPP). e material is ten times stronger than regular polypropylene. CPP, unlike steel, aluminum and fi berglass, off ers a combination of outstanding physical, chemical, mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. CPP resists cracking, retains stiff ness and fl exibility, and has a far better impact strength in extreme cold temperatures than that of natural polypropylene. CPP is non-toxic, non-staining and easily fabricated. CPP is non-corrosive and lighter in weight than steel, aluminum, and fi berglass and is 100% recyclable.

BAFFLES: e transverse partitions are constructed of 3/8” copolymer and the longitudinal is constructed of 1⁄2”. Each baffl e partition is one piece in design and extends from side to side and front to rear of the tank. ese are placed to provide maximum fl ow, minimum surge, and comply with NFPA 1901.

FILL TOWER: e fi ll tower shall be constructed of 1⁄2” copolymer material. e size shall be 8” high, 8” wide and 8” long. Its location shall be to the right side and rear corner unless otherwise specifi ed by the customer. e fl oor of the fi ll tower shall be a perforated sheet (removable type screen) to prevent small objects from falling into the tank. e fi ll tower lid shall be mounted to allow air to escape when closed.

OVERFLOW: e overfl ow piping shall be 4” inner dimension. It shall be made of a minimum of schedule 40 copolymer pipe designed to run through the tank.

TANK LID: e tank lid shall be constructed of 1⁄2” copolymer material with 2” diameter round bar stock, fi tted and welded in such a way that will reinforce and add strength to the top of the tank. ey shall extend up through the lid to a point even with the top walls of the tank. To insure maximum strength, lifting point are fi tted into the internal structure, and welded on eight sides.

AIR ESCAPES:An air escape vent shall be installed inside the tank to allow maximum fi ll capacity should the vehicle be parked on unlevel ground. e piping shall be vented to the fi ll tower above the overfl ow level.

SUMP: e tank sump shall be constructed of 1⁄2” copolymer material. A recessed 3” schedule 160 threaded insert shall be welded to the sump for connection to the pump. An anti-swivel partition shall be installed directly above the sump to prevent water swirl from occurring during water draw.

TANK FILL:A 1 1⁄2” schedule 160 coupling shall be installed at the front of the tank. ere shall be a pressure defl ector welded inside the tank. ere shall be a pressure defl ector welded inside the tank to defl ect pressure away from baffl e partitions.

MOUNTING: e tank shall be nitrogen welded to a 1” x 3” beam skid assembly fabricated of 1” thick polypropylene, U.V. stabilized. is skid is to be 90” long, 48” wide and include a 1⁄2” thick polypropylene pump platform, overlaid with .125 smooth aluminum.

ACCESSORIES: e tank shall have one liquid level sight gauge incorporated into the left rear tank wall facing the pump platform.

PUMP: e pump shall be a Hale Model HP 300, 400 GPM 20 PSI, with a 2 1⁄2” suction and a 2 1⁄2” discharge. e pump is powered by an 18 HP Briggs and Stratton two (2) cylinder, four (4) cycle gasoline engine with spark arresting muffl er, electronic ignition and electric and manual recoil starter. A 3” U.S. gallon gas tank shall be provided and conveniently located on the skid unit. ere shall be a 90° exhaust pipe mount to exhaust system.

CONTROL PANEL:A control panel with an engine start button, and engine shut-off switch, a panel light and switch, a throttle control and a 2 1⁄2” liquid fi lled discharge gauge shall be provided and conveniently located on pump/engine assembly.

PRIMER: e pump shall be primed by a fast and simple to use exhaust primer and quarter turn bronze valve.

PIPING:All piping shall be hot dipped galvanized pipe, or high-pressure, fl exible type hose. All suction and discharge valves shall be easily accessible from the rear of the unit.

SUCTIONS: ere shall be a 2 1⁄2” tank-to-pump suction line with a 2 1⁄2” Akron, quarter turn, in-line, at rear of the unit, with a chrome plated plug cap and chain.

DISCHARGE: ere shall be a 2 1⁄2” NST male pre-connect line, at rear of the unit, with a 2 1⁄2” Akron quarter turn in-line ball valve with chrome plated caps and chains. ere shall be a 1” pump-to-tank fi ll line with an 1” Akron quarter turn, in-line, ball valve. ere shall be a 1” reel valve with an 1” Akron quarter turn, in-line, ball valve.* e only substitution for Akron valve will be Elkhart upon request.

REEL: e booster reel shall be an electric rewind Hannay booster reel with an all-steel frame and drum, plated drive chain, sprocket, hub assembly, swivel joint and fastenings. e reel shall have a capacity of 200’ of 3⁄4” hose. One (1) roller guide assembly shall be provided on each side of the reel. A hose reel rewind switch shall be located on the control panel at the rear. An Akron 1701 nozzle to be provided.

INSTALLATION: e entire unit will be installed in the customer’s chassis, and hooked to the chassis electrical system.
