What would school be like if children could doodle while you teach?

What if their doodling makes class more engaging and fun, makes the students want to be in your classroom, and makes the subject matter easier for them to understand and remember?

And what if any teacher could run a classroom like this?

Roy Blumenthal is a professional sketchnoter. He helps make presentations of all kinds come to life by drawing live interpretations of what he's hearing, so that the whole audience can see his doodles. He's currently completing a Master of Arts at Wits University, where he did an empirical study on how live sketchnoting impacts engagement and retention in students.

In this talk, Roy will share some of the science behind how sketchnoting works (hint: dual-coding, multi-modal learning, interactive learning), and some easy techniques for you and the children in your class to become con�dent sketchnoters. The best news is that nobody even has to know how to draw.
