History
•Surfers would put wheels on their surf boards so they could practice surfing without having to travel to a beach or going to crowded beaches.
Broken decks•Skateboarding is more
expensive than people think. With decks at around $60 with grip tape and they break about once a month that can add up.
•Many people don’t like skaters because they believe they vandalize, and destroy things.
•This is a reason people kick skaters out of people.
injuries•Injuries is all part of skateboarding
from cuts to broken bones.
•There is really no way to avoid injuries while skateboarding.
• Street league is the biggest pro street skating competition on a indoor concrete skatepark. The second biggest skate comp. is the Tampa pro am.
•To become pro you must make videos and try to get sponsored. To be considered a pro you must get paid to skate.
•The X-Games is the worlds largest skateboarding competition.
•My favorite skater is definitely Nyjah Huston.
•Putting videos out anywhere you can is the only way to become sponsored.

•The first skateboard wheels were made of metal.
•Wheels were later made of clay but when people hit a crack the wheels would shatter.
•Skate decks are mostly made of 7-ply maple wood

•Going to the skate park is one of my favorite things to do.
•Skateboarding gets you out of your comfort zone which can be good most of the time.
• A 2002 report found that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85% of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74% were male.
