All agreed the back section of the IGA parking lot would be an ideal location with the existing partial rock wall providing a nice visual boundary. The representative also recommended a “street park” design format using the existing asphalt parking lot as the base for the pad. As noted in ACTION 5, a “street park” (above) is one in which a flat concrete pad is poured and elements added separately. He also suggested the following seven obstacles: Obstacle 1: 10’ flat grind Obstacle 2: 3x8 Quarter Pipe Obstacle 3: Urban Series Skate Bench Obstacle4: Combined Plaza Deck, Street Grindbox (3) and Ledges (2) Obstacle 5: Combined Jump Launch & Urban Series Skate Table Obstacle 6: Flat Kinked Grind Rail Obstacle 7: 11’ Street Ledge IGA parking lot off Main Street in Downtown Cadiz. 6x8 Quarter Pipe

APPENDIX H Skate Park Cost Estimate

“Street Park” Skate Park in Somerset KY

SKATE PARK SIGNAGE

Above is the wording used on signs at the entrance to a number of skate parks across the Commonwealth.

Please Note: Skatewave apparatus are designed for both skateboards and bicycles. Some parks also allow non-motorized wheelchairs.

This park is unsupervised. Users assume all risk inherent in the use of this facility.

Use may result in serious injury up to and . KNOW YOUR ABILITIES AND SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

- Minors should have parental supervision. - Only skateboards, rollerblades and bicycles allowed in skate area. - No motorized devices of any sort are allowed with the skate park. - PROTECTIVE HELMET, ELBOW, KNEE, AND WRIST PADS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.

- Do not engage in reckless behavior including but not limited to, tandem riding, pushing, horseplay, fighting, and/or bullying or any other activity that could endanger others.

- No smoking, eating, or drinking allowed in the designated skate area. - No glass containers. - No alcohol or drugs permitted. - No firearms, knives, or other weapons permitted. - No items may be brought into the skate park or skating area such as

obstacles or ramps. - Do not proceed into an area until it is clear of other users and /or debris. - Do not overcrowd the facility. - Certain weather conditions such as rain, snow, or ice can adversely affect

ramps and surface conditions. - No spectators inside the skating area. - No pets allowed inside designated skating area.

Skate Park is open from dawn to dusk. KRS 411.190 (Kentucky State Recreational User Statue) applies.
