Susan Konkel, Principal with SKA International has over twenty-two years of international hospitality design experience . Her career began with the hospitality design giant HBA where for 12 years she created interiors for the likes of One and Only, Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. LLC, Givenchy Spas, Marriott International, Sheraton, Landmark, the Omni and Hyatt International. She’s been personally involved in all tasks and phases of hotel design and is recognized for creating diverse interiors that represent and strengthen the brand image.

As Corporate Director, Interior of Design for Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. LLC for 8 years and later as a Project Leader for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group; Susan further enlarged her circle of influence in luxury design. While collaborating with the worlds award winning design firms, developers and owners, Susan's reputation as an expert in her field was solidified.

Her work throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East has allowed her great personal satisfaction as well as strengthened her knowledge in multi-cultural design vocabulary and multi-national work practices. Her operations exposure has refined her design sense and her business understanding of the hospitality and life style markets.

Susan has been on both sides of hotel development; first as a designer then as an operator. In order to meet luxury demands Susan is able to elevate the guest experience by integrating operational requirements with aesthetic excellence.
