I am currently working as a Senior Care Assistant in a residential home, and I responsible for 25 residents and up to four staff members. Prior to my current role I worked in the Police Force for more than 10 years. In these roles I have increased my knowledge of the law, medications and the importance of supporting individuals to live the lives they choose and dealing with people from all walks of life. I have completed a BSc (honours) Accredited Psychology degree, which I am currently waiting for the results after my final exam. I am now seeking the opportunity to use my hard work and knowledge within the Psychology field.

I assist with feeding and personal care as well as shopping and treats to brighten the individual's day. I use different mediums such as an ipad, to keep them up to date with news and look at pictures of her favourite topics such as gardening. I also support and join in with singing hymns for the individual as this is something she really enjoys and she does not seem to mind how rubbish I sound. I encourage others in the home to join in and this is an enjoyable social activity.
