Interviewees must know how to give the best answers to the interviewer’s questions; and it helps to know what some of these questions might be and how to best prepare for the interview. Preparation Know something about the company. Ask friends, neighbors, relatives about the company. Learn as much as possible about the position. Know your interests, values, goals, skills, and achievements. Practice Make sure you review practice interview questions before the interview. Practicing your answers to yourself out loud can help prepare you for the real thing. Practice with a career counselor at the Career Center, or with family and friends. Presentation Be on time. Follow-up after the interview. Provide whatever applications, references, or transcripts requested by the prospective employer as soon as possible. After the interview, be sure to write down the name, title, and address of the recruiter.

Follow-up letters are an appropriate method of maintaining contact with the interviewer. It’s a great way to reinforce your suitability for the job.
