FIELD OBSERVATIONS

✓ The units are spread across Mandiya Road, RIICO Industrial Area, Pali Industrial

Phase – I/II/III. There are app. 390 plus units spread across these areas engaged

in dying & printing.

✓ All the units are more than 12 –15 years in operation and its their family run

business.

✓ The main reason for such a large number of units is the availability of cheap labour

during peak season –April –Oct and secondly the ground water is suitable for

dyeing & block printing.

✓ On an average the units are running for 2 shifts and there is no power problem, the

electricity is available for app 18-20 hrs from the grid @ 4.80 to 5.60 per unit as

some units have taken LT /HT connections. Number of units are having power

back –up system in form of DG set 11KVA.

✓ The Energy cost in total cost of production is app. 20% as compared to raw

material which goes upto 60%

✓ There is no outsourcing of technology, they are using in house technology

✓ The major equipments are Boiler, Mixer, Multi Color Screen Printing, Jiggers, Hot

Air Stenter

✓ The major raw materials like pigments, dyes, chemicals are sourced locally

whereas in some case the grey fabric which is used for bleaching, dying is sourced

from Surat, Kochin

✓ The units are famous for the dyes / pigments i.e. color combination used wherein

block printed cloth is the major market outside Rajasthan.
