Plans Management The Site Builder's Template Plan is the set of limits, web site components (photo gallery, forum, database, and etc.), number of hosts and set of templates applied to a web site created in SiteBuilder. After applying a Template Plan to a web site the set of limits and components contained in this Plan are copied to the web site Plan. Such web site Plan is called Inherited Plan, i.e. it inherits the limits and the set of web site components from the Template Plan. Limits and components of Inherited Plan can be changed according to web site owner requirements without affecting its Template Plan. Limits and settings of the original Template Plan cannot be changed by a web site owner. Further in this subsection the information regarding how changes in the Template Plan affect its Inherited Plan is provided. The list of Template Plans and their contents can be viewed and accessed on the Plan Management screen. Settings of Inherited Plan can be viewed and edited only on the Site Management screen during editing of web site parameters.

Template Plan can have two statuses: activated or deactivated. Activated Plan can be applied to any type of web sites. Deactivated Plan can not be applied to any type of the web sites. The change of Plan Status from Activated to Deactivated doesn't affect the work of the sites to which this Plan was previously applied since its settings are copied to the Inherited Plans of these sites.

After SiteBuilder installation the program automatically generates the Plan containing basic set of limits and the web site modules. This Plan is called BasePlan and consists of the following limits: maximum number of web pages (by default it is set to 10) and basic set of web site components.

BasePlan is generated to be a safeguard against the situations when the trial site Template Plan gets corrupt for some reasons and in that case this corrupted Plan is replaced by BasePlan. BasePlan cannot be removed or deactivated in SiteBuilder.

There are two types of web sites in SiteBuilder: trial web sites and regular web sites. Trial web site is the site created by the user who is using SiteBuilder for the first time. The trial sites can not be published immediately upon their creation. First they should be made into regular web sites. The life-time of a trial web site is 30 days. If the trial site is not becoming the regular web site during this time period it gets terminated. By default one of the Plans in SiteBuilder is set as Trial Plan. Trial site is created automatically in SiteBuilder when user access SiteBuilder. If administrator manually deactivated Trial Plan and there are no other Plans for trial sites in SiteBuilder then automatic creation of new trial sites is denied. Administrator is able to switch deactivated Trial Plan to activated mode manually, or he/she can create new Trial Plan to be applied to trial sites. When the automatic creation of new trial sites is denied and when all Trial Plans are deactivated user can still access the trial site created before Trial Plans were deactivated.

Prior to creating a trial web site make sure that SiteBuilder contains Template Plan otherwise the option of automatic creation of trial web sites will be unavailable. Trial Plan cannot be automatically deactivated or removed. The Plan Management screen displays whether or not Template Plan can be applied to trial sites, in the For trial sites column (Yes - the Plan can be applied to trial sites, No - it can not be applied to trial sites). To disable automatic creation of trial sites in SiteBuilder click on Yes in the For trial sites column.

Regular web sites are fully functional web sites that can be published after their creation.

Web site Plan consists of two parts: Base part and User's Part. Both parts contain the set of limitations, web site components, and web page templates.

The settings of the Base part of the web site Plan can be changed by SiteBuilder administrator only. Web site owner is able to change settings just in the User's part of the web site Plan. The Base part contains settings and web site components of the Template Plan applied to this site.

User's part of the web site Plan consists of additional web site components web site owner adds him/herself and the maximum number of web pages set by the owner.

Limitation on the number of web site pages.

The maximum number of web pages set for web site calculated as following: when in the Template Plan applied to the web site the maximum number of pages was set as 10 pages, this number is copied in the Base part of the web site Plan. And if the web site owner set the maximum number of web pages as 15, then the total number of allowed web site pages is 25. If afterwards the web site owner replaced his or her Template Plan with the Template Plan containing the maximum number of web pages as 20. Then the maximum number of pages set in User's part of the web site Plan remains the same (15 pages), but the maximum number of web pages contained in Base Part is replaced by 20. Then the total number of minimum web pages on this web site would be no less than 35 pages.

Additional web site components.

Additional web site components contained in User's part of the Plan can be added or removed just during the editing of this part of the Plan. If the Template Plan is replaced by another Plan they remain the same.

In order to manage SiteBuilder Plan administrator accesses the Plan Management screen by clicking Plan Management in SiteBuilder administrator interface. On this screen he or she is able to do the following: see the list of all plans currently stored in his or her SiteBuilder, add new Plan, activate/deactivate a Plan, delete a Plan, and find particular Template Plan by its name.

The Template Plan status is indicated in the Status column (A - activated, D - deactivated). To activate Template Plan select a check box beside the Template you require to activate and click Activate. For trial sites column shows whether particular Template Plan can be applied to the trial sites and what Plans can not be applied to them (Yes - Template Plan can be applied to trial web site, No - Template Plan can not be applied to them). To select all the Plans listed on the Plan Management screen select check box beside N this way all the Plans will be selected for activation/deactivation/deletion. To delete the Plan select check box beside the deactivated Plan and click Delete.

Site Management As it was mentioned in the Plan Management subsection there are two types of web sites in SiteBuilder: trial web sites and regular web sites.

A trial web site is a site with limited functionality. Trial sites cannot be published. They are created by users who use SiteBuilder for the first time. Also trial site has a time life of 30 days. If the trial web site is not transferred into regular web site upon expiration of its time-life this trial site is terminated.

A regular web site is a site with a full functionality and ready for publishing. Administrator is able to make trial site into regular web site.

Site Management allows you to view, edit, activate/deactivate, delete SiteBuilder sites on your host, and switch the trial web site into the regular site. Click the Site Management icon in SiteBuilder Administrator Interface to access site management functions.

On this screen a web site can be deactivated or activated. Activated web site is marked by A (activated) in the Status column. To deactivate it, select a check box beside activated web site and click Deactivate. To activate web site select the check box beside deactivated web site, marked by D (deactivated) in the Status column, and click Activate. Deactivated web site can not be published.

The administrator is enabled to allow or disallow publishing of the regular web site. To allow publishing of the regular web site select the check box beside the web site and click Allow Publish. To disallow publishing select the check box beside the corresponding site and click Disallow Publish.

To make the trial web site into regular web site for its further publishing select the check box beside this trial site and click Trial to Regular. If trial site is deactivated then upon transferring it to regular web site this site is deactivated also.

If licensing agreement is broken, i.e. the number of the web sites allowed for publishing is overreached upon transferring the trial site into the regular web site then this regular web site becomes deactivated.

If licensing agreement is maintained during this operation then this trial site becomes activated regular site.

When the trial site becomes the activated regular site the Template Plan for the trial web sites is automatically assigned to it, i.e. all the settings of the Template Plan for the trial web sites are assigned to this site. For more effective usage of the Template Plans it is recommended to edit settings of newly transferred regular site.

Note: Only regular web site can be published. Trial web site must be made regular before its publishing

To delete the web site select the check box beside the appropriate web site and click Delete.
