Homework (2)1.Solve problem 2.2 from the book.

2.Solve problem 2.8 from the book.

3. A U-tube manometer is connected to a closed tank as shown in the figure. The air pressure in the tank is 0.5 psi, and the liquid in the tank is oil (γ=54 Ib/ ft3), the pressure at point A is 2 psi. Determine:

-The depth of oil , z.

-The differential reading h.

4. The gauge reading at A in the following figure is -2 KN/m2; determine the elevation from the datum of the liquid in the open piezometer tubes E, F, and G.

Fluid mechanics Home Work 8.A piston having a cross sectional area of 0.07 m2 is located in a cylinder containing water as shown in the figure . An open U-tube manometer is connected to the cylinder as shown . For h1=60 mm and h= 100 mm, what is the value of the applied force P, acting on the piston? The weight of the piston is negligible.

9. For the inclined - tube manometer shown in the figure , the pressure in pipe A is 0.6 psi. The fluid in both pipes A & B is water and the fluid in the manometer has a specific gravity of 2.6. What is the pressure in pipe B?

10. Solve problem 19 from the book.

11. Solve problem 21from the book.

12. Solve problem 22 from the book.
