Bei Gewitter darf nicht an der Anlage gearbeitet werden und keine Kabel angeschlossen oder getrennt werden.

Der Site Sharing Adapter (Typ-Nr. 86010154) komplettiert das aus FlexRET-Modul (Typ-Nr. 86010153) und FlexRET-Antenne (z.B. Typ-Nr. 80010727) bestehende FlexRET-System.

2 Einleitung

In der Regel sind die Konfi gurationsmöglichkeiten eines RET-Systems, welches als Kernkomponente eine in einer Antenne integrier-te RET-Funktionalität beinhaltet, auf Systemkonfi gurationen mit nur einer Steuereinheit (z. B. CCU Typ-Nr. 86010006) beschränkt. Dies bedeutet, dass z. B. die Downtilt-Einstellungen einer entsprechenden Antenne lediglich von einer einzigen Steuereinheit vorge-nommen werden können (z. B. Basis-Station).

In der Praxis teilen sich aber mehrere Basisstationen, gleicher wie auch unterschiedlicher Mobilfunkgenerationen (z. B. GSM, UMTS,LTE), ein und die selbe Antenne (Multiband-Antenne).Eine Antenne kann auch zwischen Basisstationen unterschiedlicher Netzbetreiber geteilt werden, welche unabhängig voneinander die RET-Funktionalität der gemeinsamen Antenne nutzen wollen. In beiden Fällen spricht man vom sogenannten „co-siting“ bzw. „site-sharing“.

Mit Hilfe des Site Sharing Adapters kann die RET-Funktionalität des FlexRET-Systems von bis zu drei voneinander unabhängigen Steuereinheiten genutzt werden.Eine Steuereinheit wird oft auch als „Primary“ bezeichnet.

3 Montage

HinweisNur FlexRETs ab dem Firmware-Stand FW_V02.01.00 sind geeignet für den Betrieb mit dem Site Sharing Adapter: - Die Firmware Version kann über den AISG/3GPP Befehl „Get Information“ abgefragt werden.- Das aktuelle FW File der FlexRET kann von der Hompage von Kathrein heruntergeladen werden

Der Site Sharing Adapter kann am Antennenmast mittels der mitgelieferten Bandschelle befestigt werden. Dabei erfolgt die Erdungmittels der Massepunkte am Site Sharing Adapter in Verbindung mit der Bandschelle am Antennenmast.

Alternativ kann der Site Sharing Adapter mittels Wandmontage befestigt werden. Dabei muss ein Erdungskabel zum Site Sharing Adapter geführt und mittels der mitgelieferten Erdungsschraube an einem der äußeren Massepunkte befestigt werden.

Der Site Sharing Adapter muss so montiert sein, dass die Anschlüsse nach unten zeigen und somit ein ausreichender Schutz gegen eindringendes Wasser besteht.Nicht benutzte Ports müssen mit der mitgelieferten Schutzkappe geschützt werden.

HinweisDie Montage darf nur durch qualifi ziertes Personal erfolgen. Die jeweiligen nationalen geltenden Vorschriften undRichtlinien sind zu beachten.

5 Unterstützte Protokolle

An den drei AISG-Eingängen A, B und C (entsprechend IEC 60130-9) können bis zu drei, voneinander unabhängige, Steuerein-heiten angeschlossen werden.

Der Ausgang „FlexRET“ dient zum Anschlie-ßen von bis zu drei FlexRET-Geräten.

Im Auslieferungszustand kann an jedem der drei Eingänge über das voreingestellte 3GPP/AISG2.0 Protokoll mit den angeschlos-senen FlexRETs im Single-RET-Modus (device type 0x01) kommuniziert werden. Die Anzahl der Single-RETs je FlexRET-System entspricht der Anzahl der internen Antennen-Systeme der verwendeten FlexRET-Antennen.

Der folgenden Übersicht sind, neben dem voreingestellten Protokoll, alle weiteren unterstützen und per Konfi guration einstellbaren Protokolle zu entnehmen.

4 AISG-Schnittstellen

Diese Protokolleinstellungen können für jeden AISG-Eingang des Site Sharing Adapters individuell vorgenommen werden.

6 Unterstützte Systemkonfi gurationenMaximal können bis zu drei, voneinander unabhängige Steuereinheiten am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen werden. Der Site Sharing Adapter unterstützt bis zu drei FlexRETs, die über eine Daisy-Chain-Anordnung miteinander verbunden sind.

Die unten aufgeführte Systemkonfi guration stellt ein FlexRET-System, inklusive Site Sharing Adapter, in der maximalen Ausbaustufe dar.

Alle weiteren Systemkonfi gurationen, wie z. B. die Kombination nur einer FlexRET-Antenne mit drei Steuereinheiten oder auchbeispielsweise drei FlexRET-Antennen mit zwei Steuereinheiten, werden ebenso unterstützt.

HinweisEs ist stets darauf zu achten, dass die FlexRETs direkt mittels RET-Kabel (z. B. Typ-Nr. 86010007) mit dem Site Sharing Adapter verbunden werden. Die Installation zusätzlicher AISG-Komponenten, wie z. B. SBTs oder DTMAs, zwischen Site Sharing Adapter und den FlexRETs ist nicht zulässig.Beispiele für weitere Systemkonfi gurationen sind dem Anhang zu entnehmen.

HinweisDie AISG-Kabellänge zwischen Site Sharing Adapter und der letzten FlexRET darf 150 m nicht übersteigen. Diesemaximale AISG-Kabellänge kann beliebig zwischen Site Sharing Adapter und den einzelnen FlexRETs aufgeteilt werden.

HinweisDie Typ-Nummer einer an einen Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen FlexRET ändert sich von 86010153 auf 86010154.

7 Konfi guration des Site Sharing AdaptersIn der maximalen Ausbaustufe mit drei Hexaband-Antennen sind bis zu 18 Single-RETs (3GPP/AISG2.0 und AISG1.1) bzw. drei Multi-RETs (3GPP/AISG2.0 only) mit je sechs Subunits im System verfügbar. Der Einfachheit halber werden sowohl Single-RETs als auch die Subunits einer Multi-RET in diesem Dokument als „RET-Einheiten“ bezeichnet. Ein FlexRET-System mit Site Sharing Adapter beinhaltet somit maximal 18 RET-Einheiten.

Im Auslieferungszustand des Site Sharing Adapters können alle angeschlossenen RET-Einheiten von jedem der drei AISG-Eingänge aus angesteuert werden.Abhängig vom betrachteten AISG-Eingang (A, B, C) melden sich die gleichen RET-Einheiten mit unterschiedlichen Seriennummern, bzw. lassen sich mit den unterschiedlichen Seriennummern direkt adressieren, was an dem folgenden Beispiel verdeutlicht werden soll.Im Folgenden betrachten wir die unten abgebildete Systemkonfi guration, in welcher die drei Triple-Band-Antennen 80010727, 80010865 und 80010866 inklusive der drei FlexRETs mit den Seriennummern CSG100001, CSG100002 und CSG100003 installiert wurden. In dieser Systemkonfi guration würden somit an den unterschiedlichen Site Sharing Adapter-Eingängen die folgenden neun RET-Einheiten mit den aufgelisteten Seriennummern angesteuert werden können.

HinweisDie jeweiligen letzten drei ASCII-Zeichen (z. B. „-Y1“) der Seriennummern repräsentieren, entsprechend dem Standard „AISG-Antenna Port-Colour Coding v2.0“, die Zuordnung der jeweiligen RET-Einheit zu dem entsprechenden Frequenz-band. Ein Port-Colour-Code ist somit eindeutig einem Frequenzband und einer RET-Einheit zugeordnet.

Die obige Darstellung beinhaltet je AISG-Eingang neun RET-Einheiten, welche sich von AISG-Eingang zu AISG-Eingang lediglich durch den eingangsspezifi schen Buchstaben A, B bzw. C unterscheiden. Es handelt sich aber jeweils um die selben RET-Einheiten. In dieser Grundkonfi guration kann jede der neun RET-Einheiten, von jedem AISG-Eingang aus, mittels der eingangsspezifi schen Seriennummer angesteuert werden.

In der Praxis ist jedoch eine eindeutige Zuordnung der RET-Einheiten zu den unterschiedlichen Primaries zu empfehlen. D. h. eine RET-Einheit sollte nur von einer einzigen Primary angesteuert werden.Die eindeutige Zuordnung der am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossenen RET-Einheiten zu den unterschiedlichen AISG-Eingängen und somit zu den unterschiedlichen Primaries kann über verschiedene Wege durchgeführt werden (wie im Kapitel 7 beschrieben).

Bei der Site Sharing Konfi gurations-Software handelt es sich um ein auf Windows-Betriebssystemen (Windows XP und höher)lauffähiges Programm, welches eine komfortable Konfi guration, von FlexRET-Systemen mit Site Sharing Adapter, ermöglicht.Über den Kathrein-PCA (Typ-Nr. 86010046) kann die Konfi gurations-Software direkt auf den Site Sharing Adapter mit den ange-schlossenen FlexRET-Antennen zugreifen und ermöglicht so die gewünschten Einstellungen. Die Konfi guration kann über jeden der drei AISG-Eingänge vorgenommen werden.

Durch Klicken auf den Menüpunkt „Preferences“ öffnet sich das folgende Fenster zur Auswahl der Kommunikationsschnittstelle.

Hier soll der COM-Port ausgewählt werden, an welchem der PCA via USB angeschlossen wurde. Das kleine PCA-Symbol hebt diese Schnittstelle hervor (hier COM3).

Der Menüpunkt „Connect to ALD“ stellt, über den zuvor ausgewählten COM-Port und den PCA, eine Verbindung zu den am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossenen FlexRETs her, liest alle für die Konfi guration relevanten Daten aus und stellt diese anschaulich dar. Das folgende Bild zeigt das entsprechende Ergebnis:

7.1.3 Kommunikation mit den angeschlossenen FlexRETs

Je angeschlossener FlexRET wird ein TAB erzeugt, in welchem die relevanten Antennen-spezifi schen Daten und Einstellungendargestellt sind. Der TAB-Name entspricht der jeweiligen FlexRET-Modul-Seriennummer.

Die in den TABs dargestellte Tabelle besteht aus den drei, entsprechend gekennzeichneten Bereichen „base stations“, „antenna bands“ und „protocol versions“.

7.1.4 Aufbau und Inhalt der TABs

Der dritte Bereich der Tabelle „protocol versions“ ermöglicht die exklusive Auswahl des Kommunikationsprotokolls je AISG-EingangA, B und C. Im Auslieferungszustand des Site Sharing Adapters ist für jeden AISG-Eingang das 3GPP-Protokoll im Single-RET-Modus voreingestellt.

Im Bereich „base stations“ stehen repräsentativ die Bezeichnungen für die drei, an den Site Sharing Adapter anschließbarenPrimaries. Diese Bezeichnungen können unter „Preferences“ geändert werden.Durch die Buchstaben A, B und C wird verdeutlicht, für welchen der drei AISG-Eingänge des Site Sharing Adapters die Konfi guration gilt.Im Bereich „antenna bands“ wird, abhängig von der Anzahl der in der Antenne verbauten Frequenzbänder, je Frequenzband eine Spalte abgebildet. In diesem Beispiel (siehe Bild 6.1.3.2 bis Bild 6.1.3.4) handelt es sich um die drei Triple-Band-Antennen 80010727, 80010865 und 80010866.Jede der Spalten ist durch ihren spezifi schen Frequenzbereich (z. B. „698-960“), gefolgt vom entsprechenden Port-Colour-Code(z. B. „-R1“), gekennzeichnet.In diesen Spalten wird festgelegt, an welchem der drei AISG-Eingänge A, B und C des Site Sharing Adapters die RET-Einheit des jeweiligen Frequenzbands angesteuert werden kann.

Wie bereits erwähnt, können im Auslieferungszustand des Site Sharing Adapters die RET-Einheiten aller angeschlossenen Flex-RETs von jedem der drei AISG-Eingänge angesteuert werden. Dies kann den obigen TABs entsprechend entnommen werden - alleKombinationen aus Primaries und Frequenzbändern sind angekreuzt.Durch Klicken auf die Kästchen dieses Bereichs werden die Markierungen entweder gesetzt oder gelöscht, wodurch die eigentliche Zuordnung bzw. Konfi guration erfolgt.Beispielsweise ist die folgende, eindeutige Zuordnung der Frequenzbänder zu den jeweiligen „base stations“ denkbar.

HinweisIn der Grundeinstellung der Konfi gurations-Software kann jedes Frequenzband einer Antenne nur einem einzigen AISG-Eingang (hier „Base Station A, B, C“ ) zugeordnet werden. Unter dem Menüpunkt „Preferences“ besteht die Möglichkeit diese Limitierung aufzuheben.

WichtigIn der Grundeinstellung der Konfi gurations-Software ist es nicht möglich alle Auswahlkreuze im Bereich „antenna bands“ zu entfernen - das letzte Kreuz kann nicht gelöscht werden. Würde man eine Konfi guration ohne jegliche Zuordnung eines Frequenzbands zu mindestens einem AISG-Eingang durchführen, wäre diese FlexRET-Antenne über keinen der drei AISG-Eingänge mehr erreichbar.Unter dem Menüpunkt „Preferences“ besteht die Möglichkeit auch diese Limitierung aufzuheben.

HinweisDie Konfi gurations-Software kann immer, unabhängig von der zuvor durchgeführten Konfi guration, mit dem Site Sharing Adapter kommunizieren und ermöglicht so die Korrektur einer möglichen Fehlkonfi guration.

Die Protokoll-Auswahl kann, wie erwähnt, nur exklusiv für jeden der drei AISG-Eingänge getroffen werden, d. h. nur ein einzigesProtokoll wird je Eingang unterstützt.Eine Mehrfachauswahl je AISG-Eingang wird seitens des Konfi gurationsprogrammes blockiert.Die Auswahl der Protokolle kann nur auf dem ersten TAB, repräsentativ für die weiteren TABs, vorgenommen werden. Dieser Bereichist in den weiteren TABs inaktiv und wird daher grau dargestellt.Der folgende Screenshot zeigt eine mögliche Protokoll-Auswahl, welche für jeden AISG-Eingang ein unterschiedliches Protokoll festlegt.

Über den Menüpunkt „Set Confi guration“ kann die oben durchgeführte Konfi guration direkt an den Site Sharing Adapter gesendet und gesetzt werden.

Hinweis:Um die neu gesetzte Konfi guration an den unterschiedlichen AISG-Eingängen aktivieren zu können, müssen diese, falls sie während des Setzens mit Spannung versorgt wurden, für einen kurzen Moment spannungsfrei geschaltet werden!

Die zuvor eingestellte Konfi guration kann über den Menüpunkt „Save to File“ auf einem Laufwerk gespeichert werden. Hiermitwerden mehrere Dateien in dem ausgewählten Ordner abgelegt.

Es wird u. a. eine Konfi gurationsdatei mit der Endung „.confi g“, hier „Confi guration_Example.confi g“ erzeugt, in welcher dievorgenommene Konfi guration vollständig hinterlegt ist. Möchte man eine bereits abgespeicherte Konfi guration erneut in dieKonfi gurations-Software laden, kann dies über den Menüpunkt „Load from File“ erfolgen.

Je angeschlossener FlexRET-Antenne wird auch eine Download-Konfi gurationsdatei mit der Extension „.bin“ abgespeichert. Diese Dateien beinhalten jeweils die Konfi gurationseinstellungen, welche auf den entsprechenden Antennen-spezifi schen TABsvorgenommen wurden. Diese Donwload-Konfi gurationsdateien können via AISG-Download (entsprechend AISG1.1 bzw. 3GPP-Standard) direkt auf die jeweiligen FlexRETs geladen werden (siehe auch Abschnitt 7.3 „Konfi guration mittels Download-Konfi gura-tionsdateien“).

HinweisDie „bin-Dateien“ können nur auf FlexRETs geladen werden, welche an einem Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen sind.

Entsprechend der oben durchgeführten Konfi guration können an den unterschiedlichen AISG-Eingängen die folgenden RET-Einheiten betrieben werden:Die Erweiterung „A“, „B“ oder „C“ in der Seriennummer bezeichnet den verwendeten Eingang am Site-Sharing-Adapter.

7.1.8 Systemkonfi guration nach der Konfi guration des Site Sharing Adapters

Die Site Sharing Konfi gurations-Software kann auch ohne Verbindung zu einem FlexRET-System genutzt werden, wodurch auch „off-line“ die Erstellung von Konfi gurationsdateien (Dateiendung „.confi g“) wie auch Download-Konfi gurationsdateien (Dateiendung „.bin“) möglich ist.

Zur Auswahl eines bestimmten Antennentyps klickt man auf diesen und bestätigt mit „OK“.Das Auswahlfenster wird geschlossen und die Antennen-spezifi schen Daten werden in Tabellenform angezeigt.

7.2.3 Konfi guration des ausgewählten Antennentyps

In den beiden Bereichen „antenna bands“ und „protocol versions“ kann nun die Konfi guration der FlexRET-Antenne vorgenommen werden [siehe auch Kapitel 7.1 „Konfi guration mit Site Sharing Konfi gurations-Software und Kathrein PCA“ ].

WichtigIn der Grundeinstellung der Konfi gurations-Software ist es nicht möglich, alle Auswahlkreuze im Bereich „antenna bands“ zu entfernen - das letzte Kreuz kann nicht gelöscht werden. Würde man eine Konfi guration ohne jegliche Zuordnung einesFrequenzbands zu einem AISG-Eingang durchführen, wäre diese FlexRET-Antenne über keinen der drei AISG-Eingän-ge mehr erreichbar.Unter dem Menüpunkt „Preferences“ besteht die Möglichkeit, auch diese Limitierung aufzuheben.

HinweisDie Konfi gurations-Software kann immer, unabhängig von der zuvor durchgeführten Konfi guration, mit dem Site SharingAdapter kommunizieren und ermöglicht so die Korrektur einer möglichen Fehlkonfi guration.

7.2.4 Sichern der Konfi gurationsdatenDie oben eingestellte Konfi guration kann über den Menüpunkt „Save to File“ auf einem Laufwerk gespeichert werden.

Es wird u. a. eine Konfi gurationsdatei mit der Endung „.confi g“ erzeugt (hier „Off_line_Confi guration_Example.confi g“), in der die vorgenommene Konfi guration vollständig hinterlegt ist. Möchte man eine bereits abgespeicherte Konfi guration erneut in dieKonfi gurations-Software laden, kann dies über den Menüpunkt „Load from File“ erfolgen.Ebenso wird eine Download-Konfi gurationsdatei mit der Extension „.bin“ abgespeichert, welche ebenso Konfi gurationseinstellungen beinhaltet und via AISG-Download auf die entsprechende FlexRET geladen werden kann [siehe Kapitel 7.3 „Konfi guration mittels DownloadKonfi gurationsdateien“ ].

7.3 Konfi guration mittels Download-Konfi gurationsdateienDie unter Kapitel 7.1 und 7.2 erzeugten Download-Konfi gurationsdateien (Dateiendung „.bin“) können mit AISG-konformen Primaries via AISG-Download auf die entsprechenden, an dem Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossenen FlexRETs geladen werden. Nach dem Download wird die entsprechende Konfi guration automatisch gesetzt.

HinweisUm die neu gesetzte Konfi guration an den unterschiedlichen AISG-Eingängen zu aktivieren, müssen diese, insofern sie während des Setzens (hier via Download) mit Spannung versorgt wurden, für einen kurzen Moment spannungsfrei geschaltet werden.

HinweisDie bin-Dateien können nur auf FlexRETs geladen werden, welche an einem Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen sind.

Der Download dieser Dateien kann u. a. mit dem Kathrein PCA (Typ-Nr. 86010046) oder dem Kathrein ALC (Typ-Nr. 86010156)durchgeführt werden. Hinweise zur Durchführung des Downloads können den jeweiligen Manuals entnommen werden.

Nein, die Primaries bzw. Basisstationen können auch indirekt, z. B. über SBTs, DTMAs und RETs angeschlossen werden.

An welchen AISG-Eingang soll der Kathrein-PCA zur Konfi guration mit der Konfi gurations-Software ange-schlossen werden?

Die Konfi guration des Site Sharing Adapters kann über jeden der drei AISG-Eingänge vorgenommen werden.

Warum ändert sich die Seriennummer einer FlexRET, wenn diese über den Site Sharing Adapter betrieben wird?

Wird eine FlexRET über den Site Sharing Adapter betrieben, so wird der Buchstabe des AISG-Eingangs (A, B, oder C), an welchem die Primary angeschlossen ist, in die Seriennummer der FlexRET eingebaut (z. B. CSG100001-Y1 wird zu CSG100001A-Y1). Dies ist nötig, da ggf. ein und dieselbe FlexRET von mehreren Primaries angesteuert werden kann, wie es auch im Auslieferungszustand des Site Sharing Adapters der Fall ist. Würde man hier nicht zwischen den Anschlüssen unterscheiden, so könnte es beim Netzbetreiber zu Inkonsistenzen in seiner Datenbank kommen, da an unterschiedlichen Primaries dieselbe Seriennummer detektiert werden würde.

Kann man FlexRETs auch ohne Site Sharing Adapter via Download der Download-Konfi gurationsdateien konfi gurieren?

Die Konfi guration eines FlexRET-Systems ist nur über den Site Sharing Adapter möglich. Eine nicht an dem Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossene FlexRET würde eine Download-Konfi gurationsdatei mit einer Fehlermel-dung ablehnen.

Wie kann man eine Fehlkonfi guration korrigieren? Mittels der Konfi gurations-Software kann immer mit dem Site SharingAdapter kommuniziert und eine Korrektur der Konfi gurationsdaten vorge-nommen werden.

Die in der Site Sharing Konfi gurations-Software vorgenommene Konfi guration wird über den Menüpunkt „Save to File“ u. a. in Download-Konfi gurationsdateien abgespeichert. Port-Colour Code Die letzten drei Zeichen der Seriennummer einer RET entsprechen, gemäß dem Standard „AISG-Antenna Port-Colour Coding v2.0“, dem Frequenz-band, dessen Downtilt-Werte durch diese RET eingestellt werden können.

Primary Steuereinheit zur Ansteuerung von RET-Komponenten (secondaries) und anderen in den Standards AISG1.1 und/oder 3GPP/AISG2.0 spezifi zierten Gerätetypen.

RET-Einheit Entspricht bei Single-RETs einer Single-RET und bei Multi-RETseiner Subunit dieser Multi-RET. Eine Multi-RET beinhaltet somit so vieleRET-Einheiten, wie sie Subunits hat.

Single-RET Entspricht, gemäß den Standards AISG1.1 einer „RET“ und gemäß 3GPP TS.25.463, einer „single-antenna“ (jeweils device-type 0x01)

Sie haben einen Site Sharing Adapter an eine Primary angeschlossen, können jedoch kein AISG-Gerät ansteuern.

Der Site Sharing Adapter alleine ist für eine Primary transparent und kann daher nicht detektiert werden. Nur FlexRETs, welche an dem dafür vorgesehenen Ausgang des Site Sharing Adapters angeschlossen sind, können entsprechend angesteuert werden.

Sie haben den Site Sharing Adapter in ein bestehendes FlexRET-System installiert und können nun keine FlexRET mehransteuern.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass zumindest eine FlexRET am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen wurde.

Es dürfen nicht mehr als drei FlexRETs am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen werden. Ist dies bei der Inbetriebnahme der Fall, kann keine dieser FlexRETs angesteuert werden.Der Site Sharing Adapter unterstützt im Auslieferungszustand Single-RETs gemäß 3GPP TS.25.463. Sie haben an ein bestehendes FlexRET-System mit Site Sharing Adapter eine weitere RET mittels „daisy-chaining“angeschlossen. Diese RET kann nicht von der Primary angesteuert werden.

Ausschließlich FlexRETs können über den Site Sharing Adapter angesprochen werden. Alle anderen AISG-Geräte sind nicht ansteuerbar.

Sie haben an ein bestehendes FlexRET-System mit Site Sharing Adapter und drei kaskadierten FlexRETs eine weitereFlexRET mittels „daisy-chaining“ angeschlossen. Diese vierte FlexRET kann nicht von der Primary angesteuert werden, die anderen drei FlexRETs sind jedoch weiterhin ansteuerbar.

Es dürfen nicht mehr als drei FlexRETs am Site Sharing Adapter angeschlossen werden. Wird ein bereits in Betriebgenommenes System durch eine zusätzliche FlexRET erweitert, so kann diese weitere FlexRET nicht angesteuertwerden.

Sie können an einem bestimmten AISG-Eingang die RET-Einheiten nicht ansteuern, welche per Konfi gurations-Software diesem zugeordnet wurden. Möglicherweise wurde eine Fehlkonfi guration vorgenommen.

Mittels der Konfi gurations-Software kann immer, und über jeden der drei AISG-Eingänge, mit dem Site Sharing Adapter kommuniziert und eine Überprüfung bzw. Korrektur der Konfi guration vorgenommen werden.

Sie haben den Site Sharing Adapter vor einem DTMA installiert und eine FlexRET an den AISG-Ausgang des DTMAsangeschlossen. Die Ansteuerung der beiden Geräte seitens der Primary ist nicht möglich.

Eine Installation weiterer Gerätetypen, wie z. B. SBT und DTMA am FlexRET-Ausgang des Site Sharing Adapters ist nicht zulässig. Stellen Sie sicher, dass außer den FlexRETs keine weiteren AISG-Geräte, wie z. B. SBTs oder DTMAs am FlexRET-Ausgang des Site Sharing Adapters angeschlossen sind.

The Site Sharing Adapter (type no. 86010154) rounds off the FlexRET system, made up of the integrated FlexRET module (type no. 86010153) and the corresponding FlexRET antenna (e.g. type no. 80010727).

2 Introduction

The confi guration options on an RET system, which is a core component that includes RET functionality integrated into an antenna, is generally limited to system confi gurations with only one controller (e.g. CCU type no. 86010006). For example, this means that the down tilt settings on a corresponding antenna can only be made by a single controller (i.e. Base station).

However, in practice several base stations of the same or different mobile communication generations (e.g. GSM, UMTS, LTE) sharethe same antenna (multi-band antenna).An antenna can also be shared between base stations for different network providers, which want to use the RET functionality of the shared antenna independently of one another. Both of these cases can be referred to as "co-siting" or "site sharing".

The Site Sharing Adapter enables the RET functionality of the FlexRET system to be used by up to three independent controllers.A controller is often also referred to as a "primary".

3 Mounting

NoteOnly FlexRETs with Firmware version FW_V02.01.00 or later are suitable for operation with the Site Sharing Adapter: - The fi rmware version can be queried using the AISG/3GPP "Get Information" command.- The current FlexRET FW fi le can be downloaded from the Kathrein homepage.

The Site Sharing Adapter can be attached to the antenna mast using the clip supplied. Earthing is carried out using the ground pointson the Site Sharing Adapter in conjunction with the clip on the antenna mast.

Alternatively, the Site Sharing Adapter can be wall mounted. In this case, an earth cable must be routed to the Site Sharing Adapterand attached to one of the external ground points using the earthing screw supplied.

The Site Sharing Adapter must be mounted in such a way that the connections point downwards, ensuring adequate protection against penetration of water.Open ports should be terminated with the delivered protection caps.

NoteMounting may only be carried out by qualifi ed personnel. The applicable national regulations and directives must be observed.

5 Supported protocols

At the three AISG inputs A, B and C (complying with IEC 60130-9) up to three independent controllers can be connected.

The "FlexRET" output is used to connect up to three FlexRET devices.

As supplied, each of the three inputs can communicate with the connected FlexRETs in single RET mode (device type 0x01) using the default 3GPP/AISG2.0 protocol. The number of single RETs in a FlexRET system corresponds to the number of internal antenna systems arrays on the FlexRET antennas used.

The following overview shows all other protocols, in addition to the default protocol, that are supported and can be set using theconfi guration.

6 Supported system confi gurationsA maximum of up to three independent controllers can be connected to the Site Sharing Adapter. The Site Sharing Adapter supports up to three FlexRETs, which are connected to one another using a daisy chain arrangement.

The system confi guration set out below represents a FlexRET system, including Site Sharing Adapter, with the maximum level of expansion.

All other system confi gurations, e.g. a combination of just one FlexRET antenna with three controllers or three FlexRET antennas with two controllers, are also supported.

7 Site Sharing Adapter confi gurationIn the maximum level of expansion with three hexaband antennas, up to 18 single RETs (3GPP/AISG2.0 and AISG1.1) or three multi-RETs (3GPP/AISG2.0 only) with six sub-units each are available in the system. For the sake of simplicity, both single RETs and thesub-units in a multi-RET are referred to as "RET units" in this document. Thus, a FlexRET system with Site Sharing Adapter includesa maximum of 18 RET units.As supplied, the Site Sharing Adapter can actuate all connected RET units from each of the three AISG inputs.Depending on the relevant AISG input (A, B, C) the same RET units communicate with different serial numbers, or can be directlyaddressed with the different serial numbers, as illustrated in the following example.

In this section, we will look at the system confi guration shown below, in which the three triple-band antennas 80010727, 80010865 and 80010866 have been installed including the three FlexRETs with serial numbers CSG100001, CSG10002 and CSG100003. In this system confi guration, therefore, it would be possible to actuate the following nine RET units with the listed serial numbers at the different Site Sharing Adapter inputs.

NoteThe last three ASCII characters in each case (e.g. "-Y1") in the serial numbers represent the assignment of the relevant RET unit to the corresponding frequency band, as specifi ed in the standard "AISC Antenna Port Colour Coding v2.0". A port colour code is thus uniquely assigned to one frequency band and one RET unit.

The above fi gure includes nine RET units for each AISG input, which differ from one AISG input to another only in terms of the input-specifi c letters A, B and C. However, these are the same RET units in each case. In this basic confi guration, each of the nine RET units can be actuated from each AISG input using the input-specifi c serial number.

However, in practice a unique assignment of RET units to the different primaries is recommended. In other words, a RET unit should only be actuated by a single primary.The unique assignment of the RET units connected to the Site Sharing Adapter to the different AISG inputs and therefore to the different primaries can be made in various ways (as described in Chapter 7).

The Site Sharing confi guration software is a program that runs on Windows operating systems (Windows XP and higher) and allows convenient confi guration of FlexRET systems with a Site Sharing Adapter.The Kathrein PCA (type no. 86010046) enables the confi guration software to access the Site Sharing Adapter with the connected FlexRET antennas directly, thus allowing the required settings to be made. Confi guration can be carried out using each of the three AISG inputs.

The table displayed in the tabs is made up of three areas, designed "Base stations", "Antenna bands" and "Protocol versions".

7.1.4 Layout and content of tabs

The third area of the table - "Protocol versions" - allows exclusive selection of the communication protocol for each AISG input A, B and C. As supplied, the default setting on the Site Sharing Adapter is the 3GPP protocol in single RET mode for each AISG input.

The "Base stations" contains the designations for the three primaries that can be connected to the Site Sharing Adapter. These designations can be changed under "Preferences".The letters A, B and C illustrate which of the three AISG inputs on the Site Sharing Adapter the confi guration applies to.The "Antenna bands" area contains a column for each of the frequency bands installed in the antenna. In this example (see Fig. 6.1.3.2 to Fig. 6.1.3.4) these are the three triple-band antennas 80010727, 80010865 and 80010866.Each of the columns is identifi ed by its specifi c frequency range (e.g. "698-960"), followed by the corresponding port colour code (e.g. "-R1").These columns specify which of the three AISG inputs A, B and C on the Site Sharing Adapter can be used to actuate the RET unitfor the relevant frequency band.

As mentioned above, as supplied the Site Sharing Adapter can actuate the RET units for all connected FlexRETs from each of the three AISG inputs. This is shown in the above tabs - all combinations of primaries and frequency bands are checked.Clicking on the boxes in this area either sets or clears the check marks, which sets the actual assignment or confi guration.For example, the following unique assignment of frequency bands to the relevant "base stations" is possible.

The fi les created include a confi guration fi le with the extension ".confi g", in this case "Confi guration_Example.confi g", which contains the entire confi guration carried out. If you want to load a saved confi guration to the confi guration software, this is done using the "Load from File" option.

A download confi guration fi le with the extension ".bin" is also saved for each connected FlexRET antenna. These fi les contain the relevant confi guration settings that have been made on the corresponding antenna-specifi c tabs. These download confi guration fi les can be loaded by AISG download (as specifi ed in AISG1.1 or 3GPP standard) directly to the relevant FlexRETs (see also Section 7.3 "Confi guration using download confi guration fi les").

NoteThe ".bin" fi les can only be loaded to FlexRETs that are connected to a Site Sharing Adapter.

Up to three FlexRETs can be connected (daisy chain).

Do the primaries or base stations have to be connected directly to the AISG inputs on the Site Sharing Adapter?

No, the primaries or base stations can also be connected indirectly, e.g. using SBTs, DTMAs and RETs.

This is necessary because the same FlexRET can be actuated by several primaries, as is the case with the Site Sharing Adapter as supplied. If you were not to differentiate between the connections, there could be inconsistencies in the network provider's database, as the same serial number would be detected on different primaries.

Can FlexRETs be confi gured by downloading the download confi guration fi les without the Site Sharing Adapter?

A FlexRET system can only be confi gured using the Site Sharing Adapter. A FlexRET that is not connected to the Site Sharing Adapter would reject a download confi guration fi le with an error message.

How can an incorrect confi guration be corrected? The confi guration software can also be used to communicate with the Site Sharing Adapter and to correct the confi guration data.

Make sure that at least one FlexRET has been connected to the Site Sharing Adapter.

No more than three FlexRETs can be connected to the Site Sharing Adapter.
