REMOVED. LOOSE SURFACE LITTER, NORMALLY CONSISTING OF FALLEN LEAVES OR NEEDLES, TWIGS,
BARK, CONES, AND SMALL BRANCHES, SHALL BE PERMITTED TO A DEPTH OF 3 INCHES IN HEIGHT. THIS
GUIDELINE IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO ELIMINATE TREES, BUSHES, SHRUBS AND SURFACE DEBRIS THAT
ARE COMPLETELY DEAD OR WITH SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNTS OF DEAD BRANCHES OR LEAVES/NEEDLES
THAT WOULD READILY BURN.
3. DOWN LOGS OR STUMPS ANYWHERE WITHIN 100 FEET FROM THE BUILDING OR STRUCTURE, WHEN
EMBEDDED IN THE SOIL, MAY BE RETAINED WHEN ISOLATED FROM OTHER VEGETATION. OCCASIONAL
(APPROXIMATELY ONE PER ACRE) STANDING DEAD TREES (SNAGS) THAT ARE WELL-SPACED FROM OTHER
VEGETATION AND WHICH WILL NOT FALL ON BUILDINGS OR STRUCTURES OR ON ROADWAYS/DRIVEWAYS
MAY BE RETAINED.
4. WITHIN THE REDUCED FUEL ZONE*, ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FUEL TREATMENTS (4a. OR 4b.) SHALL BE

VEGETATION WILL REQUIRE GREATER SPACING BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL TREES AND BUSHES. GROUPS OF
VEGETATION (NUMEROUS PLANTS GROWING TOGETHER LESS THAN 10 FEET IN TOTAL FOLIAGE WIDTH)
MAY BE TREATED AS A SINGLE PLANT.
GRASS GENERALLY SHOULD NOT EXCEED 4 INCHES IN HEIGHT. HOWEVER, HOMEOWNERS MAY KEEP
GRASS AND OTHER FOLIAGE LESS THAN 18 INCHES IN HEIGHT ABOVE THE GROUND WHEN THESE

SIDING:
WOOD SIDING:Cedar or B-grade redwood with a flame spread rating of notmore than 75 per ASTM E84. Horizontal: min. 1x10 shiplap,Rabbeted Bevel, or T&G w/ 2x2 trim to match siding at insidecorners. Vertical: 1x4 v-groove t&g.
1. To comply with the Wildland Urban Interface buildingcode, siding must be solid “Wood” siding w/ FlameSpread Rating not greater than 150, with interlockingjoint profiles.2. Sizes: Minimum nominal 1” thickness in basic profileby minimum nominal 6” width. (American SoftwoodLumber Standard PS 20).
3. Lumber grades: No through holes or loose knots.4. Special instructions: solid wood siding shall be installedover 7/16” minimum thickness structural plywood orOSB. The recommended installation practice for solidwood siding in wall construction regarding butt andoverlapping joints is: butt joints between pieces should bestaggered a minimum of 12” and all butt joints should beflush with no gap. Nail joints into the studs or blockingmembers. One nail at each crossing with the wood framesupport member shall be used for nominal 6” siding and 2nails for nominal 8” or wider siding.
STUCCO SIDING:3-Coat cement plaster over metal lath with furring nails overGrade D-60 building paper, over flashing, over tybek housewrap over sheathing.
STONE VENEER:The anchored stone veneer shall be a maximum 5” thick andbattered per elevations. Exterior and interior veneer at walls andfireplace surrounds, shall be a mix of basalt and granite, roughlysquared, to match the Foster Residence in Stony Ridge, in varyingshapes and sizes. The intent is for a warm-tone stone with tan,brown, and rust colors. Provide large rounded moss and lichencovered granite boulders at the base. All shall be installed with adark grey tinted, deep pointed mortar joint. The coloring pigmentshall be pure ground mineral oxide, non-fading and alkali proof,color approved by Architect. The Architect and owner to review aninstalled sample per 04440 above. Installation shall comply withCRC Section R703.7 and sections 6.1 and 6.2 ofACI530/ASCE 5/TMS 402.
LANDSCAPE AND SITE WALL STONE:Site walls and drainage features may be field stone basalt or graniteor other locally available stone of colors to blend with local soil.
SOFFITS:Exterior enclosed soffits shall be 1x6 FRT v-groove T&G deckingand exterior wood ceilings and exposed eaves shall be 2x6 T&Gdecking over rafters. Material and finish for both shall be selectedto match siding. See details.
DOORS:
1. Doors: All doors shall be equipped with hardware as required for acomplete and operational system. Exterior doors shall besealed/caulked and fully weather-stripped, top, bottom, and allsides, and shall be operating snug and smoothly. Exterior doorsshall have bronze anodized aluminum thresholds, sweeps andhardware unless otherwise noted.
2. Exterior Glass Doors are by window manufacturer where noted as“French” in finish schedule and/or “FR” on plans unless otherwisenoted.
3. Wood Exterior Doors shall be Craftsmen in Wood (or equal), plankstyle 212-XX-A, fire rated 2 1/4” solid wood per WUI code, with1-1/4' jambs -, Rustic Knotty Alder. Bid installed with latches andstops.
4. Garbage Room door to be a flat skin steel door painted w/ colorTBD and custom forged steel skin w/ straps and fasteners TBD.Provide matching steel jamb, round knob and thumb-turn dead bolt.
5. Garage doors: insulated overhead sectionals w/ 1 hp. openers. Doormust be non-combustible or covered with fire-retardant treatedsiding. See elevations for design. Provide ¼” thick neoprenedampener spacers at all mounting locations of track and motor forsound and vibration isolation. Provide keypad for garage doors atlocation TBD.
6. Provide fire rated door between house and garage similar to interiordoors with closer.
WINDOWS:
Sierra Pacific “Sedona Collection,” (or equal) Metal clad "601
Bronze Anodized 072", paint grade pine, LoE 366 dual glazing,
7/8” “Contemporary
simulate” bars, bronze hardware with dark oil-rubbed finish &
wood screens. All glazing shall be tempered to meet Wildland
Urban Interface building code requirements. Interior finish shall
be a multi-coat process to simulate steel windows, similar to
that achieved in the Jones Residence in Lahontan.
SKYLIGHTS:
Skylights to feature tinted glazing. Frames to feature Metal
clad "601 Bronze Anodized 072" (or equal). Verify material
samples on site with Martis Camp design review prior to
ordering/fabricating skylight.
