Political goal:

Accountability and transparency

“Transparency of government expenditure is necessary. Free access to Siope data allows public

entities and, most of all, citizens to monitor every day public payments and receipts. We must go

further along this road”. (Del Rio, under-secretary PdCM, 2014)

Definition

Data journalism is a journalism specialty reflecting the increased role that numerical data have in the production and distribution of information in the digital era.

• For each year they can download data (receipts and payments) for all

entities

• Bulk files are not available through API (Application Programming

Interface), but there are data with fixed url to allow easier download to

applications

• Files are in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format, compliant with

RFC-4180 specifications

• Data reuse is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0

International license.
