A Technical Committee on Budget and Accounting Standards for PRIs met on 4th August 2008 co-chaired by Secretary, MoPR, Govt. of India and Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (LB) and considered the need for developing simpled format of accounts, Further the Technical Committee (TC) constituted a Sub-Committee with members from different stakeholders. On 15th January 2009, the Draft Simplified Format Accounts for PRIs was approved by sub-committee. The T C approved the Simplified format of accounts for PRIs held on 29th January 2009.
