Under Singapore Law
Upon your arrival at the Singapore Changi Airport, your baggage will be subjected to checks by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and other security agencies.
Incident (I)
On the 08-April-2011, three HCI students who returned from BSC trip were detected to be in possession of prohibited items at the Changi Airport.
School reports on the students. They may be charged, prosecuted
and sentenced in court.Police record.
Prohibited Items
They had brought in:
01 gun shaped lighter 12cm in length.
01 Silver in colour metal throwing knife 33cm in length.
01 Silver in colour metal throwing knife 33cm in length and a knuckle duster.
Incident (II)
On 28-Nov-2014, a student (current Sec 4) was found in his possession prohibited item by immigration officer at the Changi Airport terminal when he returned from BSC.
He was issued with a warning letter. School reports on the students. They may be charged, prosecuted and
sentenced in court. Police record.
Prohibited Items
The prohibited item was dismantled into 3 parts. He kept 2 of the parts (grip and the top section) and gave 1 part to his friend.
Shortly after the student was questioned at the immigration office, his classmate handed over his portion to the Teacher-in-charge; who in turn surrender it to the officer.
Under Singapore Law
prohibited items such as arms and explosives, bullet-proof clothing, antique guns, toy guns and swords etc require authorization from the Licensing Division of the SPF.
If you have prohibited items in your possession, please declare them and produce valid permits or authorization documents.

At least 3 – 5 demerit points. Lose
subsidy for the trip. scholarship / bursaries (if any). special program (if any). leadership appointment.
Banned from ALL overseas school trip.
