Because I know the Lord will work things out for my good, I choose joy.” That’s a good word. I am learning that the ability to choose is one of the most powerful things I have at my disposal as a child of God. Once we make up our mind and choose to sing and press in and pursue Christ regardless of the circumstances, we are as Toby Mac sings, “Unstoppable.” When we choose to sing words like the ones found in the old hymn, “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back,” we will live like the overcomers God declares us to be. Nothing settles and encourages my spirit like having God minister to me and me to Him. Even though my flesh resists these moments of irresistible impact with the lover of my soul, the Spirit beckons me throughout the day to be still and know my God. And when I get alone with God, intentionally taking time to turn off the distractions of life (cell phones, computers, televisions, etc.), He ALWAYS speaks to me. Can I get a witness? Typically, He speaks to me through reading or listening to the Scriptures. He also speaks to me in prayer, Want to learn more about Strong Tower Bible Church?
