Minimum Requirements AGE - Must be 18 years old to obtain a CDL license for use in Massachusetts and must be 21 years old to drive out of state. PHYSICAL CONDITION - A student must be able to pass a physical and drug test to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate. (D.O.T. Card) VISION - A driver must have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without corrective lenses, and have 70 degree field of vision in each eye.Drivers may not be color-blind. CRIMINAL/DRIVING RECORD - Must be brought to the school for a confidential evaluation.
