1 Introduction Normally, the SINAMICS G120 expects a steady-state "ON/OFF" command (switch). For plants and systems, which must be switched on and off, controlled by pulses (e.g. a gate/door control, hoisting gear, conveyor belt), generally a relay interconnection is required. Using the free function blocks (FFB), it is possible to interconnect the ON/OFF commands so that the inverter can be controlled using a pushbutton. The following examples shown how "ON/OFF1" commands can be implemented using one or two digital inputs as well as also "ON clockwise", "ON counter-clockwise" and "OFF1" commands using three digital inputs. In this case, NO contacts are used for the "ON" commands, and NO contacts or NC contacts are used for "OFF1" commands.
