1 Introduction



1 Introduction Normally, the SINAMICS G120 expects a steady-state "ON/OFF" command (switch). For plants and systems, which must be switched on and off, controlled by pulses (e.g. a gate/door control, hoisting gear, conveyor belt), generally a relay interconnection is required. Using the free function blocks (FFB), it is possible to interconnect the ON/OFF commands so that the inverter can be controlled using a pushbutton. The following examples shown how "ON/OFF1" commands can be implemented using one or two digital inputs as well as also "ON clockwise", "ON counter-clockwise" and "OFF1" commands using three digital inputs. In this case, NO contacts are used for the "ON" commands, and NO contacts or NC contacts are used for "OFF1" commands. When required, the analog input can be reparameterized using parameter p0756 – and also the setpoint source can be reparameterized using parameter p1000. When using the analog inputs as setpoint source, the associated DIP switches must also be set. For the voltage input, DIP switch AI0/1 must be set to the "U" position. For the current input, DIP switch AI0/1 or AI2 (only for CU230P-2) must be set to the "I" position.
