DescriptionWehavebecomeawareofapotentialhazardwithSimpliMet™XPS1MountingPressmanufacturedbetweenSeptember1,2012andApril12,2016,withserialnumbersXPS1-00101toXPS1-00890.Thisproblemmaymanifestitselfinaboltfailureinthemoldassemblymechanism,whichmayresultinthepossibleejectionoftheshearedbolt.Thecontainmentcoverassemblyincludedwiththiskitisdesignedtoencapsulatethemoldassemblyandboltsintheeventofafailure.

WARNING! WestronglyrecommendthatthiscontainmentcoverremaininplaceatalltimesduringoperationoftheSimpliMetXPS1MountingPress.

UnpackingCarefullyunpackandcheckthecontents.Ifanycomponentsaremissingordamaged,savethepackinglistandmaterialsandadvisethecarrierandBuehlerofthediscrepancy.

1. Opentheuppermoldclosuremechanism.

2. Holdontotherearofthecoverwithbothhands.Applythecoverassemblybypressingthecontainmentcoverallthewayforwardagainstthelowermoldmechanism.

3. Alignthecontainmentcoverwithlowermold

mechanismandthemoldclosurepost.

4. Oncecorrectlyaligned,themagnetswillsecurelysnapthecontainmentcoverintoplace.




5. Closetheuppermoldclosuremechanism.

6. PowerOFFtheunit.

7. TheSimpliMetXPS1isreadyforuse.

8. Inordertoremovethecontainmentcoverformaintenanceormoldcleaning,opentheuppermoldclosuremechanismandthenlifttherearcornersofthecover.Reinstallthecoverbeforeuse.

2. Toconfirmreceiptofthecontainmentcoverandtoverifythatitisinstalled,goto:http://www.buehler.com/XPS1-Certify.php.




3. Undertheregistrationtitle,“XPS1CertificationStep1of2”,selectthelanguagepreference.

4. Filloutthefollowingrequiredfields:
