Welcome; There is a term that most of us have completely forgotten about in our very busy lives. That word isSimplicity. It does not matter if you are a homeless person or a billionaire; your life is busy &complicated.

As we continue to cultivate spiritual awareness s within ourselves, and out in the world, we know thatour bodies, breath and minds could do with some simplicity.

On offer here is what my dad would say, whats important is the lesson you learned out of it. These are some of the lessons I learnt over the years, (learnt meaning: studied, practiced,experienced/shared) along the way.

The teaching I found in the beginning of my walking the path of spiritual practice, was extremelysimple & confusing to me. I said to myself, this seems too simple. There has got to be more. Whatabout some of those powers and abilities Ive always heard about? What about those? I wanted tolearn about those things too. Actually, I wanted them more, rather than trying to experience simplepeace and tranquility. It seemed boring. So, off I went. If there was something involved with anything about powers I needed to know more.Every once and awhile the simple would arise in the form of metaphor, and through direct experience.

The I Ching was one of my first points of direct introduction to the way. It truly is an oracle of selfliberation. I cast myself a reading for the first time and found myself stunned by the truth of my ownreflection. Truly a bolt of lightning. I have always used the I Ching directly, as I had in the beginning. In many of my different translations Ive had over the years, I never really read the first part of thebook, regarding history, and background systems. In time (years) I grew to realize the best question toask was, myself here now. No other question really matters anyway. It was shortly after the I Chingentered my life that I had the experience of seeing how thoughts arose out of this nothingness andthen became whatever they were going to be. But what they had come out was especially interestingfor me. It was clear and empty beyond description. The best name I could come up with was purethought or, pure energy. My question became, what is this pure thought that everything comes outof? I had to know the answer. It was a direct experience of something I couldnt explain.I noticed that thoughts came past in a stream, but where they originally came from was this pure

thought. The place within that resonated with the truth reflected in an I Ching reading and this purethought was the same place. Whole, empty, complete. Transcendent, but yet me. It was this place, this part of myself that really started me of the spiritual path. The quest for knowingwhat pure thought was.I started to learn more about meditation, psychic powers, Taoism, Buddhism. A simple method wasput forward as to how to achieve this, but it seemed too simple. I wanted a how to manual. Then I met Tat.

I was blessed that I got to meet a real teacher. Tat was his name. He is my root teacher. His wise &skillful teachings never left my heart. Even during times I had wandered off the path, his teachings andempowerments were critical in my life. He continues to be a source of blessings for all today. He

taught me about the Rainbow Bridge, and many other things.I practiced his teachings relentlessly for a few years. After my time with Tat, I started to practice Zazen meditation through the writings of TaisenDeshimaru Roshi. Simplicity resonated with me. I wanted to just focus on zazen, & hosting presence .It was through this simple and direct practice of zazen that I started to notice that if I just did mypractice, not trying to think about trying to preserve some spiritual state, that a naturalness came tomy being & actions. What I could have read about was transcended by the simple experience ofpresence of mind [awareness]. I was experiencing myself in a completely different way. Sometime Iwould stop practicing because I had difficulties adapting to how I was changing. I was moving towards,

being rather than striving for. A strange thing for many of us.It, along with the I Ching became my core practices for the next twenty years alone living in Bermuda. Now, dont immediately start thinking that I was practicing all the time. At the time I was married, withtwo toddlers, job etc. After that there were times that I was definitely not practicing at all. Sometimeswith frustration at my not being able to achieve, something sooner, I would be angry about my seeminglack of success. I learned maintaining my centeredness whether I was sitting or not.A few years ago I reunited with the I Ching, Tat, & Hosting Presence in completely new ways. Myteacher Tat helped me to crystallize my spiritual purpose over the span of a few years. It was time tobe in service to others. The Nine Ways of Bon spontaneously became a natural means of service for

me. These and other events preceded my introduction to Dzogchen; through the teachings andpractices of Namkhai Norbu two years ago.I continue my practice in growing confidence of eventual total Self Liberation.I deeply appreciate the teachings of the Ancient Sages who return me ever back to the source.Back to the source of my awareness & presence & answering my first question. From direct experience, I study, practice, and share: Be Blessed. Be Well:

Simple Spirituality:Awareness of Presence & Presence of AwarenessA:Namo: Guru, Dheva, DakiniWhat does it really mean to live a Spiritual life? Most things offered today are complicated to the point of absurdity, without actuallyproviding answers. This method is a way of returning to ones own inherent simplicity.Nothing more.Former systems of belief have become so impacted by the weight of bureaucracy and otherbaggage that these same systems now thwart the very processes they were initially designedfor. Therefore:

Spiritual Practice is an expression of our own Innate Awareness/Presence, as one with theUniverse.

(It isnt an attempt to reach it. Dont try toactholy. Justbewhole.)

    It is:

Based upon the Real; not the Conventional.Based upon the Individual; not on the TeachingsBased upon Primordial Wisdom; not on Thinking

Based upon Meaning; not on Words

Any method undertaken in order to reach, touch, claim, or possess the oneness of all thingsthrough grasping at hope and fear can never achieve anything of value. It is the path ofdilemma. The only thing it is capable of is more duality. It externalizes divine principle beyondthe reach of all.

Spirituality; in order to be actualized, must be based upon experiential knowledge. This means it is based upon Practice. Not just Belief.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    5/42

A belief is a value. Many belief systems value exclusion more than universality. Beliefsystems want to super impose a filter upon perspective. That is contrary to clarity. Clarity isnaked. Keep things clear and empty so that you reflect the Universal.

Spirituality is the practice of real value.Spirituality is beyond the narrow conceptualizations of moralist, and immoralist views.

    It is beyond duality.

Power is simply the ability to act.The highest spiritual power is ones ability to dispel the illusions from ones own mind.

Can you dispel the illusions of your own stupidity? Cultivate that power.

What I am really talking about is K.I.S.S. Keeping It Simple Spiritually. One should

reduce things down to their essentials. The key components are based uponAwareness/Presence and their inseparability. It is about removing; not adding.

The Base/Basis of the ViewSpirituality is the experience of unhindered awareness and presence.

Non-dualism.This can be said in many different ways; the union of awareness and space; of gnosis andemptiness; of drop and ocean; of breath and sky; of male and female.Awareness and Presence are inseparable. Are you presently aware? Are you aware of yourpresence? What are the limits of your awareness? What are the limits of your presence? What isawareness? What is presence? Are they unified or not? If not, why not? Where are you?Where is your awareness? How do you see your awareness and presence? If one thinks of everything in the world, what exactly would/could one add to oneself in orderto experience ones own awareness and presence? Really, what would it be?The answer is nothing at all. There is nothing outside of oneself that can give you thisintrinsic experience. It can only be found within oneself. The writings of all the ancient sagesare all directed towards this single end. They used metaphor to allude to the inexpressible, helping us to understand our own awareness and presence. Thats all.

A spiritual friend (sage) introduces you to yourself.Shows your own face to you, in the mirror of their being.

    Presence of Mind, is Peace of Mind.Peace of Mind is;

    Heaven.

Unfortunately, things disturb our presence of awareness, our awareness of presence. Weget distracted which once noticed requires a change of mind, a return back to our ownpresence of mind (awareness). This process is the same in meditation, and post meditation. Itis important in all walks of life. Periods of practicing calm abiding augment this process. Thereis an increase of intimacy.

Intimacy is being presence of awareness & awareness of presence. Both.

Awareness & Presence are the primary act of spirituality.

The secondary task is understanding what distracts us.

It is important to note that the main reason for distractions is a lack of confidence in onesown primordial awareness/presence. Strengthen ones own awareness/presence ratherthan trying to develop antidotes and defenses regarding distractions.

Star Trek metaphor:Imagine being on a halodeck that creates images automatically, based solely upon onesthoughts and feelings. What images would your awareness be projecting and reflecting to

you? Be honest with yourself. Welcome to your life! Please do your best not to waste your short life in the pursuit of complications. Practice theone thing that really matters. Being You.We experience the suffering of discontent the more we attempt to gain/add somethingextra to our awareness/presence. Any form of elaboration and antidotes are just anexpedient means to inspire our awareness to open up to expanded consciousness andbeingness. It is purely provisional.

The Practice of Awareness & Presence.(Calm Abiding)

This practice is not about doing anything. It is about being. It is all about being. In the place where you normally sit, take your seat in an upright manner as possible. There

are various positions that may suit you better than others. Pick one based on where you arenow. What is most important is having an open & upright attitude of being. The posture of yourmind, the posture of your Awareness/Presence is critical.

Blow out all your stale air and settle into your seat. Be at rest. Let go and be present. Bringthe palms ofyour hands together in the mudra of Gassho. It is the mudra of unifyingopposites, of bringing all into oneness. It is the gesture of sincere respect. It is not about

praying for something. Bow forward sincerely and return to your upright position.Rest your hands palms down on your knees. The tongue touches the front of the palate, teeth just touching. The eyes remain open gently downcast, with soft focus. Should they wander, gently returnthem back. (Eyes open means being here now)Your bum should be firmly rooted to the Earth; the crown of your head touching the sky.

Let your breath be natural.Sit like a general on horseback, not like a flat balloon.

Within and without whatever arises watch it come and watch it go. Do not think good or badabout whatever arises. Especially, do not entertain the thoughts.Do not chase after or chase away.Leave yourself alone in your own place. Do not try to be a spiritual being. Do not try tomeditate. Simply be without striving and or elaboration.Although this practice is very, very challenging, it allows you to see the weaknesses of yourbody+breath+mind. You cant hide from yourself. It exposes your complications to you. Thedirt and water gently separate and primordial awareness & presence naturally emerge. Your

real face appears. Do your best.

A real spiritual system is not based on fantasy and idle talk about it.It is done, through direct experience.

    Beyond words.

The highest wisdom is beyond words, form and formlessness. It is primordial awareness & presence.

Your own awareness/presence is the only door in.Please, enter your own storehouse of wisdom.

By the way; you are not going to gain something through this. This is not a process of gain.It is a process of complete loss.Passing thoughts are like clouds in the sky. The primordial is the basis of everything. Theprimordial is the basis of your awareness/presence. The primordial awareness/presence isone and the same for the universe and you. It is the basis of being. Awareness of the base(basis) of all existence is the core, the heart of totality.

A real spiritual Way is about experiencing the basis (base) of all things.

The universe is infinite and so are you.Experiencing real peace, beyond suffering is the main point of a spiritual way.

The other stuff is just filler.

Catching Yourself:(The process of Self Liberation)

When we say, I caught myself what do we really mean? During times of experiencing thefeeling of anger; even if we are extremely angry; the moment we catch ourselves we areimmediately less angry then we were a moment before. Is this not so?Therefore, it is possible to catch something in mind even in the midst of it. This is the criticalmeans of liberating ourselves.Converse to this, many attempt to conquer their minds, run away from it, or transform it insome way. Tampering with thoughts continues the agitation of mind. This method is established upon ones own innate awareness/presence being pure from thevery beginning.Because there is nothing outside of yourself that can be added to increase ones ownawareness/presence in anyway, fundamental being remains intact.

Yet, there exist distractions and discursive thinking. It is important to be transcendent of thethinking, while still remaining immanent. It is not about one OR the other.Essence and phenomena exist at the same place and time. They are inherently non-dual. It isonly the particulate matter in the waters of our awareness that separates these into two.

As aforementioned we can catch our thinking in the act; using it as an opportunity to changeour minds, returning to our inherent Presence of Awareness & Awareness of Presence;which, as you remember is always there.By using this method of catching thoughts and the like we become more confident in our ownintrinsic Awareness of Presence.

When we look at thoughts and the flow of thinking there will be certain things we will notice:The nature of the mind is empty. Yet there are times it displays itself as form.[thoughtforms]. Sometimes empty. Sometimes form.Where do these thought arise from?Where do these thoughts go?

Even if there are a lot of thoughts, each thought arises & disappears, followed by the next, and the next, etc. It is like watching clouds moving across the sky. When we watch clouds weare not attached to them. When we watch thoughts, we take them personally. We mistake theimages/thoughtforms that we witness AS our intrinsic Awareness/Presence. This is thevery root of ignorance itself. Metaphorically, your mind is like a blank movie screen. Itsreflective nature allows any type of image to be displayed in it, without it changing at all.Instead of remembering the empty nature of mind; many either become attached to the imagespresented, identifying with them, OR they erroneously think that mind itself is the problem. They then try to develop antidotes to fix things. They truly put themselves in a fix.Recognize the empty reflective nature of mind. Discern the real meaning of what is presentedto your awareness. And, definitely dont take thoughts personally. They are not yourawareness/presence. Sometimes there are images (things on the mind) & other times a blankscreen. Do not become attached to either condition. Both have the same root.

To actualize this does not require striving, antidotes or transformation. It requires only a firmdecision. The decision to remain; to always return to ones inherent awareness of presence &presence of awareness. It is the decision to always abide in/as PrimordialAwareness/Presence.It is our real Refuge. It is Bodhicitta. It is our Samaya (promise).

When we look up at the night sky, we say, I was outside looking at the stars. We evenqualify that statement by making others, such as, yeah, the stars werebig and bright.blah, blah, blah.Science has given us some information about these stars; how large they are in relation to

our own, how far away they are, how many billions of them there are, etc. But, for all of this countless phenomena, how many times do we consider the sheer vastnessof space itself, if ever? My point is this:

The relationship between stars & space is equal to the relationship between thoughts & thetotality of mind.

The totality of space is completely undisturbed by stars, galaxies, dust etc.It always remains true to its own nature & is never otherwise.

The Presence of Awareness; the Awareness of Presence.Infinite Awareness/Presence within & without.

I invite you to be the same.

Awareness & Presence as the root of ConductHow one acts in the state of presence is the fruit, and there is nothing else to attain.

    Garab Dorje.

Based upon the aforementioned regarding the ground/the base of our perspective, the

path/meditation of dealing with whatever arises, we now come to conducting ourselves; thefruit of our Awareness/Presence. In the last section; we spoke of the confusing images onthe screen for the nature of the screen itself. Further, the actions of most beings are

governed by their attachment to those images or by their reactions to the same. The movieis taken for reality. The suffering of discontent is the result. This perspective based uponignorance is further compounded by judgments of good and bad.

(Good & bad are fruit from the tree of dualism.)The eight worldly concerns:

    Gain/Loss Fame/Shame Praise/Blame Pleasure/Pain

The five poisons:Ignorance, Lust, Anger, Jealousy, Pride

The Bagua of Stupidity with the Five Toxic Moments.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    11/42

With this type of thinking we are stay S.O.S. (stuck on stupid). It then does not matterwhether one is rich or poor. Both are equally stuck. Our actions are based upon our ideas ofthings, not reality.Should you doubt this, simply keep doing whatever you were doing until it becomes painful

enough for you to consider changing. Hopefully it wont kill you first. LOL. If it does, try, try, try again.

The first action is stillness.Actions should arise from Primordial Awareness/Presence.

Not as a product of discursive thought.

For most, action is a product of compulsive & impulsive thoughts, emotions, & sensations. We

are (for the most part) attached these things; claiming them as our way. My process. Wetake pride in our personal neurosis. We cultivate habitual stupidity. Our accumulatedcomplexity kills us.The most important factoris ones own presence of awareness and awareness of presence.Be fully here now. Act fully here now. Practice integration of the view and conduct. Do sountil each is a perfect reflection of the other. Non-dual. Do what presents itself to be donewithout judging it.Streamline activity via voluntary simplicity. Minimize to maximize. Reduce things to their

simplest terms. Practice the Noble Eightfold Path. In short; do unto others. Body Mindone.

The fruition of your Awareness/Presence will manifest in all your actions. One with the great harmony.

Descend with the view while ascending with the conduct. It is most essential to practice these two as a unity

    Padmasambhava.

Should you maintain the way of Presence of Awareness & Awareness of Presence (as thebasis of ones perspective) together with conducting oneself according to the Golden Rule

of do unto others. You will actualize a spiritual life.Simply & Directly.

SummaryforSimple Spirituality(My commentary on Garab Dorjes 3Statements)

This is the main teaching according to my limited understanding: Thus have I heard.

The Basis of the View. Understand the quality of ones own true nature. That ones intrinsic awareness

& presence has been clear and empty since the beginning. (That original purity isthe nature/basis of your own awareness & presence.)

Individual primordial awareness & presence as non-dual with Universal primordialawareness & presence.

One is introduced directly to ones own nature by the reflective nature of aspiritual friend (sage). This direct experience is something that transcends thethought/thinking process utterly. You recognize your own face as it were. Onefirmly decides to abide in the reflective clarity of ones awareness/presence.

The Process of Self Liberation. The openness & clarity of the sky is not upset by passing clouds.

It may take awhile for your weather to clear up. Dont rush or pretend that youhave completed the process. Continue until you die. That ones individual awareness & presence is the basis of practicing Abiding.

(From realizing where one really is; one makes a firm decision not to leave it. It isthe practice of the drop repeatedly letting go into the ocean). If one finds thatthey temporarily lose their mindfulness of their presence of awareness, one cancatch themselves, & change their minds [return to original condition].

Ones true nature IS the practice.

Hosting Presence: The practice of Conduct. Merging the basis of the view, and how to conduct oneself is very important. The practice of I Ching divination, is vital in integrating the view with daily life. It is the

principle of life based upon primordial wisdom, and not the thinking mind. It leads one

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    14/42

continuously back to the source of reality, without error. Even if ones becomesseriously lost the I Ching is the GPS, the compass of spirit.

One can also Host Presence. This simply means that one opens oneself to theOcean of Wisdom that is always available to us. Are the ancient sages welcome in the

temple of your heart? This is a more advanced practice that takes time to cultivate. As we continue our practice of simple spirituality, we dispel illusion, wisdom expands,

we can apply supplementary methods of dispelling delusion from ourselves. We canlearn about our underlying motivations for our; ignorance, desires, anger, jealousy,self-importance. (like being able to recognize different types of clouds, that obscureour personal clarity)

What we are fundamentally doing is, Resolving the Contradictions of Ideas andReality.

PracticumForSimple SpiritualityThe practice of Calm Abiding Meditation:

This section is an expanded version ofThe Practice of Awareness & Presence.(Calm Abiding)This practice is not about doing anything. It is about being. It is all about being. In the place where you normally sit, take your seat in an upright manner as possible. Thereare various positions that may suit you better than others. Pick one based on where you arenow.

(Some of you may find that being is quite difficult. It is easy to keep involved in doing even in

meditation. Be here now. Mind, breath, body. Relax. You are not trying to force yourself into peace. It is important however, not to disturb your peace with striving for or against anything)(Regarding body position: dont try to sit like a yogi from the beginning. Admit to yourself that yourbody is not strong enough to sit up straight without support. May seem sad, but if that is true for you.Its true.)What is most important is having an open & upright attitude of being. The posture of yourmind, the posture of your Awareness/Presence is critical.(I mentioned having an upright attitude of being because not everyone can sit up straight, somepeople who read this may not be able to move their bodies at all. In that case, it is ones attitude ofbeing that matters. It is sincerity of presence.)

Blow out all your stale air and settle into your seat. Be at rest. Let go and be present. Bringthe palms of your hands together in the mudra of Gassho. It is the mudra of unifyingopposites, of bringing all into oneness. It is the gesture of sincere respect. It is not aboutpraying for something. Bow forward sincerely and return to your upright position.(Blowing out stale air is important for settling down your body, mind and breathing. Byletting go and being present, you stop trying to go to a parallel universe or something.Buddy, you are already in the universe, so let go and be here now.The term gassho is one that I learned from my practice of Zazen meditation. One could

have all sorts of preamble to a meditation session, but those are things that only apply to alimited number of people.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    16/42

What is important in bringing your hands together and bowing forward is this: I, asmicroscopic drop of Cosmic Ocean acknowledge my oneness with all things, seen andunseen, all beings known and unknown; I acknowledge my oneness with the Cosmic

Awareness & Presence here now.)Rest your hands palms down on your knees. The tongue touches the front of the palate, teeth just touching. The eyes remain open gently downcast, with soft focus. Should they wander, gently returnthem back.(The hands part is pretty basic. Its hard to mess that one up. The tongue position isimportant for a few reasons. First it touches an important acupressure point that allowsenergy to freely circulate. Secondly, it stops you from salivating, and drooling like a baby.)The eyes are very important. Stay Here Now.

Your bum should be firmly rooted to the Earth; the crown of your head touching the sky.Let your breath be natural.Extending the spine is important if you are capable of it. Your spine is your central channelof light and energy in your body. Keep the pipe line open. One way of looking at this is that

you are part heaven, earth, and humanity. Heaven is represented by the head; the earth isrepresented by the legs and bum; humanity is represented by your heart. Be fusion, not a

division.)Sit like a general on horseback, not like a flat balloon.(Dont sit like a hippie. Dont be slack, confusing laziness with being relaxed and alert.Meditation is not getting high and vegging out. If you want to be vegetable go to a coma

ward of a hospital. This not anything goes. Dont smoke up before you sit. It is a waste ofyour time. You might as well just watch TV or go see a movie. This practice is not mentalmasturbation on the halodeck of your mind. Wake up!)Within and without whatever arises watch it come and watch it go. Do not think good or badabout whatever arises. Especially, do not entertain them.(For many, the moment anything comes across their minds they take each and everything

personally. They constantly entertain each and everything as another image of themselves.Start slowly to dis-entangle yourself for the compulsion of jumping into every thought thatcomes along. In the beginning, you will notice just how much you do this without ever realizingthat it was happening before.

As you watch the stream of thoughts flowing past your minds eye (your awareness)sometimes the thoughts jump up from the stream and attach themselves to your awareness.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    17/42

This is known as entertaining a thought. You may be deeply involved with this thought beforeyou realize it; but when you do notice it simply acknowledge it, saying within, pass, pass, pass, & change your mind returning to your meditation. Yes, you will have to do this a lot.

Remember this is the practice of mindfulness. It is about being mindful of arising thoughts,

emotions, and sensations. Developing objectivity which fosters intimacy of being.)Do not chase after or chase away.Leave yourself alone in your own place. Do not try to be a spiritual being. Do not try tomeditate. Simply be without striving and or elaboration.(One of the most important things that arise is how much every action is tied into chasingafter something or chasing something away. This is not normal, it is pathology. We are alwaystrying to be something. A gerbil, a tree, a feeling, a TV commercial. Always trying, trying, trying. JUST BE YOU, HERE NOW. Not an image/idea of yourself as this great

being whacamacallit. You are you here now. You are special here now. Stop trying to besomeone, or somewhere else. You dont have to dress up your image of yourself in order tohave sincere practice. Just be sincere. Have a sincerely naked awareness & presence. No fig leaves allowed. Dont be ashamed of your naked awareness.)Although this practice is very, very challenging, it allows you to see the weaknesses of yourbody+breath+mind. You cant hide from yourself. It exposes your complications to you. Thedirt and water gently separate and primordial awareness & presence naturally emerge. Yourreal face appears. Do your best.(In the beginning few weeks of your practice, a lot of your personal junk is going to come up.Once you deal with that challenge, there is the challenge of not becoming complacent and

getting slack. Keep a beginners mind. Always practice like it is the first time.Lastly, enjoy the process of having the weeds in your mental garden come up and showthemselves. The more you are aware of what has been blocking your flow, you can openthings up.Remember that the main reason of practicing meditation is increased intimacy with yourself. That is the super antidote to any of the other problems. Be loving and kind to yourself.

    Do your best.)

Ma y this benefit your practice of meditation.

    I Ching Divination:(The Oracle of Self-Liberation)

I wanted to say a few words about this very important text, the I Ching. When I first started

to use it in 1986 I had no idea that it would be so directly accurate in its reflections. Thosereflections are not based upon belief or any other thought. It always works. In my experience, nothing else has helped me to overcome my own stupidity, & expand wisdommore than the I Ching. It has saved the lives of my family and myself, more times than I cancount.I did not study the I Ching as an object of knowledge. I sincerely and simply applied it to mylife. After twenty years of use I am starting to expand my studies into the other aspects ofhealing etc that the I Ching covers.

Firstly, why use divination anyway? As we walk our own spiritual path it is important to be able to separate food from fallow inthe mind. Some people think that they can rely upon their own faulty perceptions to figureout how to end the cycle of suffering. That is stupid. The first step in becoming whole is torealize that you cant see everything clearly, not to rely on the same faulty vision to get youout. Some say they dont want to rely on such things because they fear becoming dependentupon them. I ask you, is it better then to rely upon ones own stupidity more? I would ratherdepend and take refuge with something that always tells me the truth; that does not allow me

to harbor any traces of cherished stupidity; that helps me to see things with completecircumspection, clarity, and profound insight.I have witnessed how the experience of direct truth reflected to myself and others changelives. For some people, it is the first time they have ever had the experience of 100% truth. That is priceless. My only regret is that people who should avail themselves of it dontbecause they cherish their delusions more. Each reading/teaching is unique to the time, place and your consciousness. Its teachinghelps one to return without fail to their primordial awareness & presence. Simply put it

augments ones own intimacy with oneself and the Universal system. Suppose you arepracticing meditation, and all the rest, but you keep having to confront your old habits andideas/images of yourself and the world. How can you get to the roots of them? The I (pronounced Yi) does this without error. it. It is a constantly evolving spiritual teaching. The principles of the I Ching teachings mirrorthose based upon Dzogchen:

Based upon the Real; not the Conventional.Based upon the Individual; not on the Teachings

Based upon Primordial Wisdom; not on Thinking.Based upon Meaning; not on Words.

The I Ching is based upon the real. It is based upon you, the individual, it is based uponprimordial wisdom, & based upon the true meaning of things. Each time is a direct introduction to your own face. You cant hide from yourself.

What other advantages are there in this? The main one that comes to mind is,It is based upon Primordial Wisdom and not on the Thinking Mind. The delusive power of our thinking is our main challenge in being able to free ourselves. TheI Ching always reflects back your own primordial wisdom. You increasingly learn the shape, taste and flavor of yourself. It displays it so you can use it to increase confidence in yourintrinsic awareness. The highest wisdom becomes available in daily life; where you need it most.It returns you to the primordial well at the center of the fields. It is the G.P.S., spiritual compass and guidance system bar none.If I have anything that could be called wisdom, I would say that the most important thing is torecognize that you dont know jack, and that you need help. Then to find a good teacher withwhom one can take refuge in; following their guidance. That to me is wisdom. To assume that

you know, and can figure it out by yourself is the heights of foolishness. Dont be a spirituallyarrogant fool, proud of your own ignorance. If someone, or something is going to tell me the truth about myself so I can grow spiritually, Im

going to shut up and listen. Give yourself the gift of the direct experience of truth.

Those of you reading this whom are blessed and fortunate with common sense; Please recognize advice from the heart when you see it.

Thats all I have to say about it.Blessings to the Ancient Sages of the I Ching!

Resolving the ContradictionsofIdeas and Reality.Life is not based on Reality.

But rather, it is based on our perception of reality.

A:Namo: Guru, Dheva, DakiniThis is a teaching about ending suffering. Suffering can be viewed as the anxiety ofdiscontent. We want to be better people, have more of this, less of that. We wish we were

prettier, sexier, more confident, stronger, & less fearful. We want enlightenment, to be onewith the oneness of all; yet we keep missing the point. Why?Because we experience life through our perceptions of reality, rather than reality itself.

In order to achieve our ideas, we then apply more force to ourselves and situations in order tomake reality match our idea of how things should be.The result is stress, anxiety and conflict; within and without. The five poisons, generate a myth of identity, that we assume, (take on) thinking that thiscollection of thoughts, emotions & sensations is the real deal. The real you. It is not. The

harder we try, the more we screw it up.(The five poisons: ignorance, desire, aggression, envy, pride)

A Myth is something that is widely accepted as true but is not.Our ideas about ourselves and everything else, weaves a tangled web of personal

mythology around our perspective. The more attached we are to our personal myth; the more we suffer.

This applies equally to daily life or to the process of walking the spiritual path; theperspectives, principles, & practices are the same.

Suffering = The anxiety of discontent. The anxiety of discontent = The contradiction of Ideas vs. Reality.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    21/42

So what is wrong with our ideas? Our ideas of things are not the same as the reality of them. For example; when we werechildren, we held ideas about how, and who we would be as adults. Most of thosenotions/ideas of the reality of actually being an adult never rang true did they?

We assume our ideas of persons, places, and things to be the same as reality. They nevermatch.(To assume something, means to take something on. i.e.: to assume an identity.)Once we have assumed an idea, an identity; we then think, speak, and act based upon thatassumption. Not on the reality itself. This gives rise to contradictions and conflicting thoughts, emotions, and actions. Thisconflict extends outwards to others around us.Ask yourself this:

How many times have my ideas matched reality?(The answer is what is fundamentally wrong with ones ideas. Is it 1 in 10? 1 in 100? 1 in 1000?). Do you see?

So how do we get rid of these ideas?OR

How do we know what has real value and what does not?

One can go about this in a few different ways. One of them is to take a flyswatter outsideand try to kill every single bug (thought) that comes along. (a bug out)Or, one can practice reality. The practice of reality is like the zero line in diagram (1). Supposed positive ideas &negative ideas are extremes. The extremes are unsustainable. If we follow those, we putourselves on a rollercoaster of experience, and miss the point. Without the zero point, themiddle way, the point of equanimity, our inherent tranquility is lost. For most of us our lives are about how much we fulfill our ideas about ourselves, rather thanexpressing ourselves. We make dangerous statements of identity: I am this, I am that, I amunder the influence of this, that or the other. We assume identity, based on where, what, when, why, and how we were born. None of these things actually bring us even one stepcloser to realizing who and what we truly are. Thus we waste our short lives chasing a mirage. We never find the oasis; the water of the source.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    22/42

Attachment to our ideas, which then becomes our process is another set of lies we tellourselves. Another series of myths. It is our self-importance. We defend our process andour myths like they are real. However, we never ask ourselves whether or not our processactually works. Well, does it?

The amount of applied force turns us into an extremist of positive and negative states. Bi-polarity. A life of dilemmas. Why do we keep doing the same things that dont work again andagain?

Example:When we see some actor who is mobbed by fans, realize what this means. It means that thefans think whole heartedly that the actor is the role they played. We can like the role theactor played, (whether they were a good guy or bad guy) however we dont see them for who

they are in their zero state, when they take off the mask.Do we accept the actor once they have stopped acting? Are we ok with who they are without a role; a myth?

Who are you when you stop acting?

Can you accept yourself in your zero point? Or are you constantly pursuing some personalmyth? Are you seeing the truth about your own zero point awareness, but negate it by making

statements such as:Yes, BUT, I have to be this way, because.. blah, blah, blah.We make excuses for our own mythology, because we cant see who we would be without themyth. Without the lie. Even if the lies sound really clever, or are based on some noble reason;they are still not reality. They are not true.We unconsciously distort our perspective to match our shortsightedness.

This is the reason that meditation is so important. During meditation we practice ourselves

without the myth. The myth comes up in front of our awareness, we can see it and realize thatwe are looking at a thought. Further, that this thought is not us. The thought, the idea, reveals itself to be only dirt in the waters of our mind.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

Diagram 1Zero state. Positive and negative states.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE IDEAS WE HOLD ABOUT OURSELVES.WHO DO WE THINK WE ARE?

WHO WE THINK WE ARE, IS NOT THE SAME AS WHO WE ACTUALLY ARE.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    24/42

The whole point of any spiritual endeavor is to realize the beauty of who you are already. Torelease the diamond covered with mud.Meditation fosters a simple and profound awareness of ourselves based solely onexperience. Not on the processes of the thinking, not on the myth.

Meditation is one of the most powerful of MYTHBUSTERS.Even our idea of being holy is a myth. Being holy simply means to be whole, to be roundand smooth. It is based on one repeatedly practicing the experience of oneness, and not theideas of oneness. This is the critical difference.

We have all met people who act spiritual, but remain rigid, stiff; or conversely are too slack. We may have acted this way ourselves. The authentic experience is much simpler andprofound then these actors enacting a myth. They practice mythology. They remain proud

of their dirty water, and thus deepen their ignorance. This holds true even if a person hasbeen on the path for years. Just because you spent your life in a library does not mean youknow anything. Or that you understood the value of what you have read.

Should we read the words of the great sages of the past, we will see their highest teaching isthe most simple, and the most profound. The short version goes like this:

Know yourself by practicing being yourself.

    Thats it. That simple.Class dismissed.

Unfortunately, most of us look at this and say to ourselves, this is too simple. There hasgot to be more. I want the higher powers, the spiritual gifts and talents. We approachspirituality like the great white hunter looking for trophies. We become a collector of thetruth, rather than a practitioner of the truth. Reality is not an object of knowledge, somethingto be seized, but something to experience. You are experiencing totality here and now, yet

you want more.We see this; hearthis, then say to ourselves, yeah, but the simple cant fix all my problems. We ask ourselves, if I shed everything (my myth) what am I going to get out of it?

We come like a thief in the night, not realizing the highest truth is like a thief breaking into anempty house. Because this does not match our myth, we leave saying, how boring.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    25/42

(Dragon scroll in Kung-Fu Panda [there is no secret ingredient] you are the dragon in themirror)We relegate the simple profound truth to an insurance policy, and keep to the myth.We hold fast to our elaborations, our complications, our karma. Until it kills us.

We claim it like it were our right foot.

All real spiritual teachers aim at their own redundancy. There is very little different between Buddha and other beings.

If all beings realized their own nature, what need would there be for teachers?

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    26/42

How can one dispel the illusions of personal mythology?Aside from using the practice of meditation, that cultivates intimacy of being, how else canone dispel the illusions of myth? We do not sit in meditation all the time, so what about when

we are going about our daily lives?

Start from where you are now. Here Now.Start from the problem, the issue that is foremost in your mind right now.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    27/42

First accept yourself as you have been up to this point. Accept that you have dirt in yourwater. This is using compassion to embrace all that is within and without. Stop doing. Startbeing. Let go.

Some of you might say, I cant just accept this or that. Why not? What can you do about it?You cant even force it (the issue) out of your mind. The more you try to force the issue, themore you agitate things the more you will keep things cloudy.

Ask yourself, (based on the current issue) what is this really about? Not what you think it means, not what you hope it means, not what you fear it means, butwhat does it actually mean.See with direct perception. Leave your judgments of good, and bad alone.

Do not try to escape from your own stupidity. Let it dissolve by itself.See things for what they are.Note: If you find your life is a mess. Fine. At least you can see the mess. I found over the

years that when I needed to meditate because things had gotten messy, I would sitBEFORE I cleaned my house. I recognized that the stuff around me just reflected how myinner states were. By sitting in my own shit, I was able to deal with first things first.Me.After that cleaning the house became a simple matter of just putting things away.

I would not try to escape from my shit. That was where I was at 30 minutes ago. Panic, andpunishing others would not, could not clean up my shit. It would only make things more shitty. Many times we try to escape from the shitty myth we manufactured. If it did not stink, wewould still think that it was somehow apart of us. We would have claimed an assumed it ASUS.

Knowing you have shit on your shoe is a blessing. No one thinks they are a bad person because they had shit on their shoe. You accept it, then wipe it off. Done.It makes us more mindful of where we stand, and where we walk in the future.Where we stand is what our position in life. Our attitude. Our perspective.Do you stand on groundless ground, or do you stand on myth?Where we walk is our path, our Way in life. Are you mindful of where you step? Or do you just throw your feet out in front of you?

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    28/42

So, the first step is compassionate acceptance of where you are here now. Let it go and justbe. Practice being.

Secondly;Dont Panic. Just because something has come up in your mind does not mean you have toact for or against it. Dont take thoughts (on) personally. You are not thoughts. When you find something that is a problem, (like dog shit) ask yourself, how have I dealt withthis in the past, and how do I want to deal with it now?Do you wipe the shit off? OR do you cut your foot off?(As you look at how you have handled things in the past, you may see that you have cut yourfoot off many times)

What is your problem based upon? Is it really the other person, or is it your own perspective, your own myth that some other person is playing a role in your play?(Here is a hint: Whatever you really hate about the other, is what you dont like about

yourself.)Do you want to fix the problem OR do you want to fix the blame?

    REMEMBER THESE:GAIN & LOSS

    FAME & SHAME

    PRAISE & BLAMEPLEASURE & PAIN

(The eight worldly concerns)How much are you motivated by the above? Either for or against?

People sell their souls to gain the world. Whatever fixed thoughts we hold, has also itsopposites within them. Dont worry, it will jump up and bite you soon enough. The aboveopposites are the positive and negative numbers of diagram 1. The peaks and valleys of therollercoaster.Ask yourself:In the past how many times have I been a puppet for hope and fear? How long have I beenchasing my tail?Note: Even if someone were to have a life of all gain, fame, praise, and pleasure; they wouldthen live in fear of the other side of the coin. The nightly news, and soap operas are loaded

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    29/42

with these worldly concerns. They are sold like manna from heaven. Just pick your favouritepuppet actor and watch them on the rollercoaster to hell.

Can you be rich and down to earth?

Can you be poor and have dignity? Can you be exalted and humble?

Practice this with the problems you have now.If you doubt this then keep doing what you were doing until it hurts. May your pain be ablessing to you. May it burst the bubble of your myth.

Recognize that anxiety is fear generated by maintaining your myth that says everything isstraight and level, when reality says it is a rollercoaster. The split between these is feeling is

when we feel torn. You cant pull the highs and lows together, (you will definitely feel torn)and recognize where & when you are trying to pull things together?Could you be trying to pull things to the center? Yeah? Yeah?Right idea, wrong method. You have to be the center, and not allow yourself to get drawn off (zero) point to extremes.(By doing so, you will also feel whole rather than torn apart)

YOUR PERSONAL MYTH IS SUSTAINED BY THE EIGHT WORLDLY CONCERNS.RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR ANXIETY IS THE DISCONTINUITY BETWEEN YOUR PERSONAL

    MYTH & REALITY.

Third:Use the power of three.A dilemma is only two options.Real choice occurs when there are three or more options. I repeat:

REAL CHOICE IS THREE OR MORE OPTIONS.

REAL CHOICE IS THREE OR MORE OPTIONS.

REAL CHOICE IS THREE OR MORE OPTIONS.

(If you only see two, there is something that you are missing.)Look again.

TV (televised vision) with its entertainment, (psychological distraction) programs, (myths)only presents dilemmas. Their objective is to split your consciousness against itself. Thereare many programmed people. Zombies. Shepeople that only repeat what they have been

programmed with; the virus that made them a zombie in the first place. Dont let them eat yourbrain.

What do you program yourself with?

What is your vision? What is it based upon?

Is it based upon the Real rather than the Conventional? Is it based upon the Individual (indivisible you) rather than the Program (myth)?

Is it based upon Primordial Wisdom rather than the Thinking mind?Is it based upon the true Meaning rather than the Words?

Together one attains:Real Individual Primordial Meaning.

Be patient with yourself. Love yourself. Set yourself realistic goals.

What is your highest purpose?Where do you need to be?

Who do you need to be with?(And, let go of what is not aligned with the above.)

Most importantly:What are your ideas/images that you base your self-importance upon?

What is your sense of personal entitlement? The things that you are most proud to say represent you are your greatest faults.

They are the very roots of your personal mythology.

BE REAL, NOT A MYTH.PRACTICE REALITY.

The Five Poisons:Ok, lets start going through these.Ignorance: as I will define it:Not being able to clearly see, or be aware of ones primordial gnosis. (awareness/presence).In other words, thinking/identifying your true being with something else. Thus ignoringones true self. This is a problem for us beings BECAUSE our true nature is like a clear marble. It takesthe appearance of whatever it is placed next to. If we forget that we are clear, then weidentify with the reflected forms around us.

    The antidote forIgnorance

    Is theWisdom of: Intrinsic Awareness

Desire: as I will define it:An inner emotion of hunger. Our desire for any person, place or thing is an attempt tosatisfy some inner state of our being. We rarely want things just because we want them. Forexample, our desires for relationships are our attempts to fulfill our need for love. Most of thetime the stuff we want is to fill some emptiness within. Because of ignorance of our truenature, we run away from the empty nature of our own minds/presence. We think we can fill

the infinity within by going to the shopping mall. It is as if ignorance has made us hungry to befull. We then grasp at things, tasting them to see if they can satisfy our need for all-one-ness.Ask yourself about your motivations that are behind your desires. What is the Need youare trying to satisfy? What is the Fear behind your actions? What are these persons, placesand things supposed to fulfill within you? Know why you want & for what reasons.

    The antidote forDesireIs the

    Wisdom of: Discernment

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    34/42

Anger: as I will define it:As a reactive emotion to two main types of experience. The first is when something happens that is contrary to our desires. The second is when something has not happened that is contrary to our desires. In either case, if reality is different from our ideas/images of it we experience this reactiveemotion that makes us want to use force to make reality conform to our ideas/images ofreality. Anger is based upon fear.Ask yourself what are you trying to force to conform to your idea/image of reality? Are yourideas/images always colliding with reality? Are you forcing yourself & others to conform to

your subjective fantasy about reality? Your personal/subjective TV show. The antidote for

    Anger

    Is theWisdom of: Clarity

Pride/Self-Importance: as I will define it:Is the stupidity of really believing that the ideas/images reflected through your clear naturehave intrinsic value. Further, that this value adds something to ones idea/image of theirprimordial identity. Im somebody. People like me, I have value. Im an important personaround here. Im not like you, youre a nobody. All beings are fundamentally the same.

This is like a clear marble being proud to be blue, not realizing that it is only resting on a bluecloth. How stupid would that be?These thoughts are based upon the false thinking that one IS the reflection, thephenomena, & the noumena (ideas/images). Are you really the superimposed mask youpretend to be? Are you ok with having a naked awareness & presence; or are you hidingbehind a fig leaf?(Fig leaf: means the veil that covers ones nakedness. Ones primordial condition)Pride is based upon Ignorance of ones true nature, & further allowing the veil to be regarded

as primary identity. The antidote forPride/Self-Importance

    Is theWisdom of: Equanimity

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    35/42

Jealousy/Envy: as I will define it:Envy is similar to anger, but is malicious, & more cunning. It is thievery. The being acting out

of jealousy/envy sees some experience, embodied by whatever person, place or thing &instead of fulfilling themselves with their own experience like the other; they want theirs. They want (desire) to fulfill something within, but are too lazy and cowardly to either drawthat experience out of the field of totality; or work to fulfill that potential themselves. Theyare so shallow within that they dont think the universe can provide them with an abundance ofall good things & experiences. Vampirism is theft of anothers life force, because the vampirecant go out into the source of light themselves. So they steal it from others.Envy is poverty of potential, based upon feelings of entitlement.

    The antidote forEnvy/Jealousy

is theWisdom of: All Accomplishing Action

The more beings engage in the cyclic dynamicof these 5poisons the more they strive & suffer.

Exorcise these things from your life, through the practice of mindfulness. These are the real demons that keep you running around the Bagua of Stupidity,

like a cat chasing its tail.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    36/42

Transforming Poison into Nectar:The Root of:The root ofIgnorance is discontentment with intrinsic awareness. The root ofDesire is misunderstanding emptiness & fullness. The root ofAnger is fear. The root ofPride is lack of confidence in intrinsic awareness. Low self esteem. The root ofEnvy is laziness & cowardice.

Ignorance:Discontentment with ones intrinsic awareness causes a fainting away, as this happens, one

becomes aware of something lacking. The feeling that what one is experiencing is less thantotality. (Duality is knowing this experience is not totality, while still being aware of ourintrinsic awareness.) Duality is the dawning of Myth. Thus arises:Desire:In other words, the hunger to be full or whole again. All desires are forms of the need forcompleteness of Awareness & Presence. As a result of our desires either not being fulfilled,or some result/effect that is perceived to be contrary to our desires,

Thus arises:Anger/Aggression:Which is striving, grasping etc by the use of force as means of fulfillment. Myth & realityconflict. We become, as determined as we are wrong. Even if we temporarily fulfill the myth;reality remains a mystery, because we think that our Core Myth of Identity has intrinsicvalue. We mistake phenomena & noumena as our identity. (race, creed, colour, nationality, astrology, etc)Further; we use this as a rating system of self and others based on how we fulfill our myth.

Thus arises;Pride/Self-importance:Becomes our sense of entitlement. Further, because of this self importance many peopleresort to refuting, or trying to diminish others, looking for flaws with others. Keeping all thecrabs in the bucket as it were. Pride & self-importance is in seeing oneself as more importantthan, or greater than others.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    37/42

Thus arises:Envy/Jealousy:With the false security of myth based identity based upon seeing oneself as greater than, others, coupled with the greed of entitlement, envy flourishes. Thoughts, words, deeds then

are not about how to make ones line longer, but how to make the line of others shorter. Envyis cowardly & lazy. We attempt to either seize or sabotage others, so that others either covetour myth; or we covet someone elses myth. Their state, their abilities; their lives.

    Catching Thoughts:When Desire arises:

Ask yourself what is this person, place, or thing supposed to fulfill within me?

What is the inner principle to be fulfilled?Pleasure & Pain. (hope & fear)

When Anger/Aggression arises:Ask yourself what did you gain that you did not want; OR, what did you lose that that you

wanted to keep? What fear is your anger based upon?

    ( fulfilled or not fulfilled)

When Pride/Self-Importance arises:Will competing with others fulfill my being?

What is my personal myth based upon? Why am I better than others?

Why are others better than me?Why do I feel entitled in my personal myth, & then support it by competing with & trying to

humiliate others?Am I justifying/supporting my myth by comparing oneself to others?

What are my self worth issues? My acceptance issues (of myself)?(acceptance or rejected)

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    38/42

When Envy/Jealousy arises:Ask yourself what is this person, place, thing has that I dont; or am not? Furthermore, why isit necessary to then think of Seizing & or Sabotaging someone elses perceived success? What makes me act cowardly, lazily & maliciously towards others, instead of acting toward my

own self fulfillment? Will this fulfill either my own myth or reality? Why do I use thoughts of seizing and sabotage when something is not the product of my

    myth?

Envy; disavows value while secretly coveting it.What is nowadays called depression & sociopathic behaviour are nothing more than envy. Inboth illnesses, the subject is embittered about the perceived success of others; disavowing

real value & or a modest myth while harbouring covetous thoughts & feelings about someoneother person place thing. The being then feels entitled to act in any way to achieve the endsthey seek. Todays society generates depressive sociopaths, by making envy seem

attractive. Many suffer with the poison of envy.

  • 8/3/2019 Simple Spirituality

    39/42

The Bagua of 8 Worldly ConcernsOk, now that we have gone over the 5 poisons, lets see how we are then bounced around bythe dualisms of the 8 worldly concerns.

It is important to mention that this is not about renouncing everything to go live in the bush orsome cave. Even if you did you would very quickly find yourself plagued by your ownthoughts in your mind.Renouncing the World, means that you are not entangled in the dualism of this temporaryexperience we call human life. It means that you live move and have your being firmly in rootedin the Universal Awareness & Presence, even if you live in a city. This is not about you livingunder a rock, in an attempt to run away from your own mind.Or that one can act in anyway one chooses completely mindless of the effects their actionswill have on others. Only lazy greedy people act that way. You on the other hand will workpersistently to clear things up without assuming or claiming actualization before it manifests.Peel all the layers of the onion.

    Gain/Loss.Fame/Shame.Praise/Blame.Pleasure/Pain.

Usually people only want one side of this list. They never think that the other side isconnected to it. Everyone wants gain, fame, praise, pleasure. No one wants loss, shame, blame, pain. Many try to hide their suffering and the negative effects of Life as Myth.Further they go deeper into guile (deception) and manipulation of themselves and others, inorder to, keep up appearances. Keeping up the mask, the myth, the lie, keeping up theappearance of whatever myth one perpetuates. Fear is one of the main drivingforces. Cantlet others see how we really are. Cant let down ones guard; ones mask. Otherwise youwould be naked. Are you not tired of always playing a role? Always being an actor on the

stage. Do you even know why you are doing this? Why are you constantly trying tocomplicate your life? What are you really going to get out of it? Are you going to gainanything at all? We give ourselves excuses saying, Im smarter, Im cunning, Imdangerous/aggressive, Im ruthless, Im a miser, Im a good thief, etc. We are so proud of ournegative behaviors, we identify with them. We put, I AM in front of every statement. With

this, we condition our consciousness more deeply with nonsense. Digging our way to self-destruction. Free your life from these catch 22s, these dilemmas.Be honest with yourself to see how these things are sucking up your precious life. Peelthings layer by layer, gradually increasing your understanding of yourself so your awareness

& presence shines. Put them into practice with yourself, and in your relationships with others.Do Unto Others.

Those who only seek Pleasure suffer great Pain of discontent. These are the two wings of Desire.

    The dilemma ofGain & Loss.

Those who are always trying to Gain always suffer Loss[es].These are the two wings of Anger/Aggression.

    The dilemma ofFame/Shame.

Those only seek Fame/Infamy in the eyes of others, Shame themselves.

These are the two wings of Envy

    The dilemma ofPraise/Blame.

Those who seek Praise are usually Blameworthy. These are the two wings of Self-Importance.

Rather than sharing some practice to get whiz bang powers or something, these simple things(that you could work on for a long time)

Are the actual things that hangyou up so you arent able to enjoy the beauty ofUniversal Oneness.

Everyone always wants the special thing, not recognizing that the ordinary, the simple, is the special.Be Blessed. Be Well.
