Simple Extruding of a SketchLearning Objectives

1. Open a new Standard.ipt

2. Click on the plus sign next to origin in the Model panel bar as shown in Figure 2.Click the right mouse button over the XY Plane and select visibility as shown in Figure3.

3. Select the Line Button in the 2D sketch panel and create the sketch shown inFigure 4.

4. Once the sketch is completed and fully dimensioned click on Return in theInventor Standard menu at the top of the screen.

5. Move the cursor into the workspace and right click to open the options menu.Select Isometric View as shown in Figure 6.

6. Select Extrude in the Part Features menu as shown in Figure 7. This opensthe Extrude dialog box as shown in Figure 8.

7. The Profile button should be selected as shown in Figure 9.

8. Move the cursor over the sketch till it becomes highlighted and left click, makingsure that the circle is not included, as shown in Figure 10.

9. Set the distance as .5 in and select the middle button with the arrow pointing upand away from the yellow plane as shown in Figure 11.

10. Click on the OK button and the finished part should look like Figure 12.
