THE CHALLENGES WITH CANNABIS ODOR CONTROL

Cannabis growers, processors, and distributors are all familiar with the odor produced from the flowers. As facilities become more commonplace and establish operations in more densely-populated areas, business managers may find that they have to deal with local odor ordinances or perhaps complaints from those in the community about the “smell” coming from their location. Some cities, towns and villages may even require special permits to establish the business operation.

This “smell”, if you know the science, is primarily driven from terpenes and other VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). There are thousands of different types of terpenes from many sources. Those commonly found in cannabis include myrcene and limonene.

Therein presents the challenge for cannabis connoisseurs - as little as 1% of the terpenes in cannabis can be detected or considered to provide a “significant odor.” With new regulation and guidelines on the constant horizon, businesses have started turning to activated carbon air filtration systems to protect their business and profits.

CANNAVAC ODOR MITIGATION SYSTEM

CannaVac 1200 is an industrial grade, cost effective carbon filtration system for growers, processors, and dispensaries. It scrubs & refreshes indoor air up to 6x/hr for a 12,000 cu ft room. The plug & play design eliminates costly installation and provides easy portability within the facility or to a new location.

Terpenes and other odors from the air are pulled into the unit and pass through a two-stage carbon filtration system. FIrst through a high-efficiency carbon cartridge filter and then through a heavier carbon canister.

This two-phase filter is highlly effective and will return air back into the facility much cleaner (or exhausted outside if that installation option is selected).
