SILAS HRC fuse-switch-disconnectors

The new generation SILAS

The new SILAS series sizes 00, 1, 2 and 3 was develop-ed on the basis of extensive market studies and with aholistic view of customer needs. The resulting advan-tages for users are readily apparent.

With this new SILAS generation, planners and switch-gear manufacturers are provided with a range of devic-es that will help them remain competitive in the face ofever tougher market requirements. After all, modern approaches to power distribution demand modularswitchgear that is simple to install and safe and reliablein operation. A cost-benefit ratio in line with the marketand ease of service are absolute musts.

SILAS for mounting on base plates

The disconnectors for mounting on base plates, sizes00, 1, 2 and 3, come with a number of predrilled fastening holes that allow these models to be used onbase plates or on profiles. With the appropriate acces-sories, the sizes 00 and 1 can be mounted on two top-hat rails.

SILAS offers innovative solutions

On the new SILAS models for mounting on base platesand for bus mounting, the entire covers can be easilyremoved while the switching cover is closed, thus eliminating the need for elaborate trim frames and extensions.

Integrated hand protection and a sliding viewing win-dow enable voltage tests to be conducted on contactblades or strap handles.

Types in the sizes 1, 2 and 3 can be retrofitted with anarc sheet to increase the switching capacity.

Besides reliable connection techniques such as cablelug, clamp connector for copper and aluminum, a newbox terminal was developed for SILAS size 00. It has thedual advantage of reducing the connection installationtime and eliminating the need for cable lugs.

All SILAS disconnectors can be sealed and fitted with alocking mechanism.

SILAS for bus mounting

What makes the bus-mounting disconnectors sizes 00,1, 2 and 3 unique is that they all have the same installa-tion height (32 or 70 mm). This eliminates the need forelaborate compensating parts and makes the coversvery easy to manufacture.

A new SILAS 00 with lower outgoing terminals was developed for installation next to D-bus-mounting fuseelements. This eliminates the fuss of having to bend thecables.

Another unique feature is the patented system for con-verting the outgoing arrangement from top to bottomand vice versa. A few simple adjustments are all that isneeded.

The fuse-switch-disconnectors can be attached, posi-tioned and tightened effortlessly.

Practical accessories

Laterally attachable support profiles for all disconnectorsizes enlarge the cut-out tolerances of the cover plateswhile also supporting these plates.

The electronic fuse monitor is directly attached to theswitching cover. The installation depth is 28 mm. Alight-emitting diode starts blinking red the moment thefuses fail. A test button and a 4-pole connector for re-mote indication are attached to the housing.

The user can install class 0.5s or 1 current transformersfor SILAS sizes 00, 1, 2 and 3 himself with the appro-priate assembly kits.

Further accessories like terminal housing cover, ter-minal extension, position indication for switching cover,etc., assist the user in finding the optimum approach.
