HOW DO THEY PRACTICE THEIR RELIGION?

-Total of 10 Gurus.Guru=Priest, Rabbi, Minister, etc.

-One god they pray to.-Neither male nor female.-Is everywhere, essence, eternal.

-Guru Nanak started Sikhism.-Travelled preaching the practice of Sikhism.-Retired at age 50.

-Last Guru, Gobind Singh died, after no more Humans were Gurus.

-Main Sikhism book = the Guru Grath Sahib

-The Guru Grath Sahib important because written by first Guru= Guru Nahak

-Has 974 hymns by the first Guru

-There is also gutka = condensed version of Guru Grath Sahib

-Contains most popular hymns by Guru Nahak

Both books contain right way to live

WHAT RELIGIOUS TEXT DOES THIS RELIGION FOLLOW?

-Baisakhi = celebrating the Indian harvest season = get together and sing hymns

-Diwaili = festival of rights because Guru Har Gobind out of jail

-Diwaili = Festival of lights = hundreds of lights, fireworks, and bonfires

-Hola Mochalla = Anandpur India = March 17= Guru Gobind used to organized military exercises and mock battles for entertainment = now 1000s attend

Singh = lion

-Women middle name = Kaur

Kaur = princess

OTHERS
