Kinds of Sign
Directional Signs: indicates directions.
Identifying Signs: name of a place or thing.
Informational Signs: gives information.
Restrictive or Prohibited: informational signs that restricts the public from entering.
Architectural Signs
Architectural signs are beautifully crafted signs that remain visually stunning up-close as well as from a distance.

The Sign should be large enough for people to see.
For parking lots the size of the signs should be bigger and can be seen from afar.
Indoor signs can be small as long as it is readable.
Implications of colors like red, yellow, blue, green, orange and brown can be easily distinguished and remember by normal viewers.

Symbols
are used to indicate commonly used materials
and features in a architectural plan. All architectural working drawings must
communicate in a clear and concise manner to the builder, therefore it requires knowledge of the symbols that are commonly used in architectural plans.
Commonly seen symbols on a construction plan are the door, window, electrical symbol and such.
