Symbols

are abstract or geometric forms which are

associated with an idea. It can also mean as pictograms. Example of a symbol: a certain kind of cross

may stand for a hospital Pictograms are based on recognizable objects

closely associated with the idea they communicate.

Symbols

are used to indicate commonly used materials

and features in a architectural plan. All architectural working drawings must

communicate in a clear and concise manner to the builder, therefore it requires knowledge of the symbols that are commonly used in architectural plans.

Commonly seen symbols on a construction plan are the door, window, electrical symbol and such.
